Good Morning Everyone ~ Are you ever in need of an idea for a Birthday Day card?
Well about 2:30 yesterday afternoon I got an e-mail having to work the Open House for the college that evening. Need less to say I had totally forgotten about it. This threw my plans into a tailspin. I thought I would have time to edit my video for my card today but that was not happening. I looked back through my photos and realized I had not shared the Birthday card I was commissioned to make. I went with that idea as the post did not require a video.
I had a lady who buys my cards asked if I made cards for events. Her mother's 90th birthday was coming up and she wanted invitations to send out. I told her I did and asked how many she would need. She told me about 25 - 30. She had purchased one of my cards that she loved so we went with that design with some modifications.
Almost all of the items on this card have retired. The polka dot background was in a catalog a few years ago. The same is true for the lace edge. The happy is from the Hello You thinlits which just retired. The same is true for the flower as it is from the Botanical Builder framelits. She was going with an old school Hawaiian theme and turquoise was the color. I used Tempting Turquoise with Whisper White. I sponged the edges of the flowers with the turquoise and added a center of Daffodil Delight with a sponge dauber. I did google Hawaiian flowers and this is one that came up. I was glad since I did not know how I was going to get the turquoise in. I printed the strip that says "90th Birthday Lucille" on my computer and used the RGB codes to get the right color. Here is what the final card looked like.

Thanks for visiting me today. I will be finishing up the car gifts for the girls today and will share them with you. Have a Great Day and what have you created when you needed a birthday card?
