Product Focus

Hello Stampers ~ Today our Product Focus is the Wood Textures dsp.

I got a few things finished yesterday.  I ended up having to prepare for my scrapbook class last night and it took longer than I thought.  We had a good time and the ladies enjoyed the pages.  Now to start planning my next month!

We are doing our Product Focus blog hop today.  This week we are looking at some new dsp in the new catalog.  Did you get yours yet?  We opted to use the Wood Textures dsp and do a Father's Day theme card.

I knew this was going to be a challenge for me as I am struggling with this paper.  I am slowly finding ways to work with it.  Knowing it was going to be a challenge I went looking for a sketch and found a fun one at Paper Craft Crew Challenges

So I used a piece of the woodgrain paper as the background.  Now I had to find a stamp set that would go with the woodgrain.  I had picked out the Field of Flowers but they were flowers and with a Father's Day theme I had to rethink my stamp set.  I remembered the fern in Butterfly Basics.  So I used it.  I stamped it with Pear Pizzazz and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes largest oval.  I then cut another oval a little larger to use as the back layer.  A piece of Pear Pizzaz was stamped with the Hardwood background using the same ink.  The end of the piece was flagged.  This was added to the lower part of the woodgrain dsp.  I added the fern ovals with dimensionals.  To finish off my card I stamped the sentiment using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  Here is my completed creation.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I am headed to the yarn shop today.  Have a Great Day and let us know if you have an idea for our Product Focus!
