10 Minute Creation #8

Hello Ladies ~ It is time for my 10 Minute Creation #8.

I am headed home today. I have a 6 hour drive ahead of me but I listen to music and I will also listen to the race.  That helps make the time go quickly.

Today I have another 10 Minute Creation for you.  This one uses some hint of embossing that you can just see in the photo below.  The video is below the creation.

Eastern Thanks

Good Morning Everyone ~ Want to see my take on the Eastern Thanks?

Well today is my last day with my friend.  I am not sure when I will be coming back for a visit.  It will depend on my schedule and her schedule.

In April we could order a new suite that will be in the upcoming Annual catalog.  It is called Eastern Palace.  I had mixed feelings about this suite but started seeing some beautiful cards.  I broke down and ordered it and it came in last week.  I decided to play with it for my post today.

The suite uses 3 of the new In Colors.  I chose to use the Fresh Fig color on my card today.  It also has some stickers that fit on the shapes as well as a few borders.  I chose to use one of the borders on my card today. It also came with matching framelits.  These framelits do no cut out the shape but instead cut out shapes in a panel.  I used one of the shapes but used my snips to cut the connecting pieces from the panel so I had a flower shape.

The idea for the layout of this card came from a layout for a scrapbook challenge.  I like the layout and decided to use it for my card.  My card base is Very Vanilla and I cut a smaller panel out of Very Vanilla also.  Using a piece of Fresh Fig card stock I cut a rectangle and then cut the rectangle at an angle.  The angle was attached to the panel.  The stickers in the Suite have borders so I used one of them to follow the bottom angle.  Using a scrap of Vanilla I stamped the flower shape with the Fresh Fig ink.  The matching framelit was used to cut it out.  I needed my layers so I used some Gold Foil paper and cut out one of the smaller shapes and then the smallest shape is cut out of Fresh Fig card stock.  The shapes were layered onto each other using glue dots to get a flower shape.  This flower was then added to the upper left hand corner of the panel with a dimensional.  The flower at the bottom was created by cutting the connecting pieces of the shape from the square to release the flower shape.  I used some scrap Vanilla to stamp the circle element and emboss with gold embossing powder.  The sentiment is part of the set so I stamped it in the center using the Fresh Fig ink.  These 2 elements were layered and then added to the panel using dimensionals.  Here is my completed creation.

Special Glitter

Hello Stampers ~ I some Special Glitter for you today!

I hope you are having a great day.  I only have a few days left here and am not sure what we have planned for today.  Sometimes we go shopping at the outlets, sometimes we stamp, and sometimes we just run errands.  They have a home tour this weekend so I know we will be doing that. Whatever we do I am sure we will have a great time.

I am so sad that a few items are retiring or were not carried over.  I am so going to miss Mint Macaron card stock!  I also wanted to see some other colors of glimmer paper or glitter ribbon.    I decided to use those items for my creation today.  I pulled out my Stylish Stems thinlits - which are sold out! - and using a Basic Black card stock I cut out the flower and the stem.  I then used the Sweet Sugarplum and Mint Macaron glimmer paper to back the cut outs.  I mounted this piece onto a Mint Macaron panel.  This panel was added to a white card base with dimensionals.  To finish off my card I add some of the beautiful glitter ribbon from Sale-abration also.  Here is my completed creation.

Product Focus Thursday

Hello Stampers ~ It's Thursday and time for our Product Focus Thursday!

Today our Product Focus  is all about stamp sets that are carrying over.  I have already pulled all my retiring stamp sets and only have my carrying over stamp sets on my shelf.  So to choose my stamp set I just looked on my shelf.  I found one set that I was glad to see did not retire.  I decided I had to use the Watercolor Wings stamp set.  I thought I would pair it with the Serene Scenery dsp.  I chose the paper that was blades of grass.  I cut the edge in a curve and attached it to my Pear Pizzazz layer. I cut a thin strip of the gold glimmer paper and added dots of glue to the back then set aside to dry.  The butterfly was next so I stamped it first with Pink Pirouette.  The next layer was stamped with Watermelon Wonder.  The final layer was Basic Gray.  The matching framelits were used to cut it out.  It was added to my card with a dimensional.  Now I needed a sentiment.  I stamped one of the ones in the set with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I cut it down and used the retired Washi Label punch on the ends.  I used a scrap of Old Olive and the same punch to make the bottom layer for the sentiment.  I added it with dimensionals. also.  Here is my completed creation.

Thanks

Good Morning Ladies ~ I have a simple Thanks card for you today!

It is midweek and I am sure you are glad the work week is almost over.  Hang in there and you can make it!

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week we are focusing on retiring items again.

I had to look through my catalogs to see what I might find as the one item I will miss the most I shared last week.  In looking through my catalogs I realized there was a thinlit I would miss as I used it fairly regularly.  I decided I would use that for my card today.

I began by cutting out my sentiment from Basic Black and adding dots of glue to the back.  This was set aside to dry some.  My card base is Blushing Bride so I cut a Basic Black layer and a Whisper White layer.  I stamped the flower from Crazy About You in the upper right hand corner.  The glue on my sentiment was dry enough so I took it and added it to the lower left corner of my layer.  This layer was then attached to the black layer which was added to my card base.  To finish off my card I added a bow made from the Sale-abration glitter ribbon.  Here is my completed creation.
