Watercolor Pencils

Hello Stampers ~ I love different techniques and my current favorite is Watercolor Pencils.

I have so many appointments I need to make.  I think I will be spending most of my day today on the phone.  Do you ever have days like that?  I do need to work on a few projects that are not completed so that I can have them to post in a few days.  Wish me luck on getting my phone calls made so I can finish the projects.

The challenge this week for Coloring Down the Lines is to use your favorite technique.

There are many techniques that I like.  My current favorite has to do with watercoloring and the new pencils.  I am not certain what it is called.  I saw the technique online and I love it.  Basically you stamp your image using our inks on watercolor paper.  After you stamp it, you then take a matching or little darker watercolor pencil and highlight the edges.  Here is a picture of the stamped image on the bottom and the top image shows the watercolor pencil added.

After it is highlighted, you take your aqua painter and add water blending the ink and the watercolor pencil to get a soft watercolor look.  It gives a more controlled watercolor image since you are using the stamped image as a guide.  After I have all my images watercolored, I mounted them onto a Basic Black panel.  A 3/8" metallic gold ribbon was added and then the panel was mounted onto a Peekaboo Peach card base.  Here is my completed creation.

Want to see some more techniques?  Head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what her favorite technique is.  Then check out the other ladies on the hop to see what their favorite techniques are.  Maybe you will find one you want to revisit!

Thanks for visiting me today.  It is supposed to be gorgeous outside I hope you take a little time to go outside and enjoy the weather.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday and if you have the watercolor pencils, give my technique a try.

Very nice, Robbie. You made those flowers pop and yet so very softly colored. Since I love watercoloring, this is a new one I will have to try soon. Hugs.
