Beautiful Leaves

Good Morning Everyone ~ I know we all love the Fall leaves but to me Springtime also has some Beautiful Leaves!

I managed to get my swatch for my yarn project started and halfway finished yesterday.  I may try and see if I can finish it up this weekend so I can wash it and block it and have it ready to take with me next Thursday.  I am going to be knitting a Custom Fit Sweater.  This is a sweater that begins with my measurements, and using those measurements and the gauge I get from knitting using the yarn for my sweater it creates a pattern that is designed for me.  I am doing a light weight summer sweater that I can use from Spring through Fall.  It will not be a quick knit so I don't expect to get it completed before the Fall.

For my card today I wanted to play along with some of my challenge blogs.  The first was a Color challenge at Color Throwdown

I paired it with a sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches

I opted to use the Woodgrain embossing folder which will be retiring in a week.  To pull in the gray from the color challenge I used my Basic Gray ink pad and swiped it across the raised side of the folder.  I then added my paper, close the folder, and ran it through my Big Shot.  This embossed the paper and added ink so you can see the embossing.  If you do this remember to wash your embossing folder right away as the ink can stain your folder.  I attached the embossed panel to my Cucumber Crush card base.  Then using the Seasonal Layers thinlits I cut out a bunch of the leaves.  I added these across the bottom part of the card with glue dots to address the horizontal strip.  For my sentiment I took one from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  These sentiments are curved but since they are photopolymer you can straighten them out long enough to stamp them and then they will go back to being curved.  I punched it out with the Classic Label punch.  I cut it down a little on the sides so that I could mount it onto another Classic Label punch in Cucumber Crush.  The sentiment was added to the card with dimensionals.  To finish off my card I added a leaf with a dimensional.  Here is my completed creation.  Has a masculine feel don't you think?

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I have some more tasks on my to do list that I am hoping to get finished so I can cross them off.  Wish me luck!  Have a Fabulous Friday and do you agree with me that the Springtime has some Beautiful Leaves?

Product Focus Thursday

Hello Stampers ~ It has been a while since we have done the Product Focus Thursday due to everyone's busy schedule.  We are back today.

I had a great day yesterday as I started my day with a massage!  I love my massages and it helps me stay sane in my crazy world.  I then worked on cards to post for the rest of the week.  I had a quick class and then spent last night planning out my 10 Minute Creation videos.  Have you been watching them?  If you watch them on You Tube I would love it if you would like them when finished.  If you are so inclined, you can leave me a comment.  It helps to get my video rating up.

This week our Product Focus is again about retiring bundles.  We were to use something that is a bundle now and NOT retiring, but will not be bundled in the next catalog.  There are several bundles that fit this criteria.  I chose to use the Sunshine Sayings bundle.  I saw a card in a group I am in on Facebook that I knew I had to make my version of.

Birgit Edblom posted a beautiful card that used the 3 squares like I have on my card.  She had used a different image.  I decided to use the framelits from the bundle for my card.  To begin I cut 3 squares from Whisper White card stock using the Stitched Shapes framelits.  I sponged the edges with ink.  These were then mounted onto my card base.  Then I used Old Olive card stock to cut out the flower.  Sweet Sugarplum was used to cut out the top of the flower.  Tombow glue was added to the back of the Sweet Sugarplum flower and set aside to dry a little.  Using Basic Black cut out the sentiment and apply Tombow to the back of it and set aside to dry.  Add the Sugarplum flower to the Olive flower.  This is then attached to the card base using Tombow glue.  The sentiment is then added to the bottom.  Here is my completed creation.

Flip Flops and Beach

Hello Everyone ~ Are you curious about my title Flip Flops and Beach?

I managed to get all my shells stamped and embossed for the Tic Tac order.  Last night while I was watching TV I punched them out.  I need to get more paper to be able to finish the last of the order.  I am hoping that order will be here next week so I can finish them up.  Then I need to get going on the Birthday Invitations.  Good thing it is a holiday this weekend as I will be working on those.

It is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop today.  Summer is just around the corner so our challenge is all about what Summer means to us.

To me Summer means flip flops and relaxing at the beach!  I went with that idea.  Using a post-it note I tore the edge and used it to sponge on my sand.  Then using the other piece I masked the sand and used the straight edge of the other half to sponge in my water.  I stamped my sun and colored it.  My card layer was finished and I just needed to stamp, color, and cut out the flip flops and the umbrella.  After I had them cut out I added them to the card layer with glue dots.  I tore a piece of Crumb Cake card stock to represent the sand pile around the umbrella pole and added it with a glue dot.  The layer was added to a Marina Mist card base.  Here is my creation.

Friends Forever

Hello Stampers ~ would you like to be Friends Forever?

Well I went bold yesterday at the hair dresser.  I decided to add  some Magenta to my hair.  I have a streak that peeks out to show a hint of some color there.  I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Now I am curious to see how long it will last.  I hope it lasts until my next appointment in 5 weeks.  Time will tell.

I saw a great color challenge that I wanted to try as I thought it would be great to use with the Eastern Palace Suite.  The color challenge was at Just us girls

In looking through my challenges I saw a sketch at TGIF Challenges that would be perfect for the Eastern Palace bundle.

So to begin my card I took a piece of the new Lemon Lime Twist and embossed it with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  A piece of Whisper White was used to cut out the flower looking thinlit from the Eastern Palace set.  The petals were sponged with Tempting Turquoise ink.  I chose a sentiment to stamp in the center with Night of Navy.  The white layer was added to the Lemon Lime layer.  A Tempting Turquoise card base was embossed using the Brick Wall embossing folder.  I added the Lemon Lime layer with dimensionals.  To finish off my card I added some sequins.  Here is my creation.
