Christmas Flurry

Good Morning Stampers!

I hope you have a great holiday and are ready to get back to work on your crafting.  Yesterday was a rainy day for us.  I spent a little time in my craft room.  Zoie even joined me for a bit.  I babysat with Chris for the girls so Jess could go to a show and have dinner with a friend.  After she got home I had to finish up my card for today.

I found a great sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges.

Paper Craft Crew Challenge 172. #papercraftcrew #cardsketch

I liked this simple idea but decided to flip the sketch for my card.  Once I flipped it, I pulled out my Season of Cheer ds paper and found a strip that had snowflakes on it.  I then used the colors in the paper for my card.  I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and punched the corners with the Curvy Corner Trio punch.  I stamped my sentiment using Versamark and added Silver embossing powder and heated it.  I popped this panel up with dimensionals. I went with a strip of silver glimmer paper for the skinny strip.  To address the button element, I used one of my Snowflake elements and added some silver thread.  Here is my final creation.

Lots of bling but the picture doesn't do it justice!

Hello Stampers!

Well our nice weather is going away.  :(  It will get chilly and I am sure that means it will be rainy also.  Perfect weather to stamp!  I had a lot to get done yesterday and I accomplished a lot.  I finished my Christmas Pocket Letter, made my 12 Weeks of Christmas project, and made my card for today as well as had a lady come to do a class.  I was glad to get so much done.

My card today is another one for my December Workshop.  I started with the sketch challenge at Match the Sketch Challenge.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do so I started going through the catalog.  I had not used my Dotty Angles so I decided to use it for my side element.  I then decided to add a strip that I had spritzed with my shimmer spray - I knew I had to get lots of sparkle!  After I punched the bottom with the banner punch I applied it to my card.  Then I stamped the flower stamp from the Six Sided Sampler.  I cut them out with scissors and then mounted it on card stock that I had punched with the hexagon punch.  I mounted them with dimensionals and added lots of rhinestones.  Here is my version of the sketch.

More Bling

Good Morning Ladies!

Well the weather has been beautiful.  Today is supposed to be great also.  Jess and Chris are thinking of taking the girls to the Zoo since the temperature is supposed to be so nice.  I have another lady coming to make a set of cards today.  Then I have 3 on Sunday for my last Christmas card class.  Busy weekend for me.

My workshop in December has a theme of "Bring on the Bling".  I have shared 2 of the cards I have designed for the workshop.  In those cards I used some glitter ribbon, glimmer paper, iridescent embossing powder, and silver ribbon.  I thought I would show another way to add some bling.  For my card today I wanted to show the ladies some other ways to add bling.  You can add some glitter to your card using double sided tape.

I found a great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches that was perfect for this technique.

I did not want to use a snowflake since my other cards were snow related.  I also wanted them to see other themes for adding bling.  I pulled out my 1/2" double sided tape and cut a flag in the end of it.  I then applied it to my card front.  I pulled off the backing and poured my glitter on top.  I pushed the glitter into the tape and dumped off the extra.  All I had to do was add my other elements.  I chose to use a butterfly so I stamped it and cut it out.  I added it to the card and attached my sequins.  My card was done.  Here is what my final card looks like.

Sparkly Snow

Hello Ladies!

I hope you all had a great Turkey Day!  Mine was very quiet.  I spent some time in my craft room working on some projects.  I got a few finished and a few almost completed.  I have some ladies coming this morning to make a project then this afternoon I will do some online shopping and work on some projects to post.  What are your plans?

Today I am playing along with The Paper Players and their sketch challenge.

I am working on my cards for my next monthly workshop.  I thought this sketch would be a good one to use for one of the cards.

I started with the tag element.  I decided to use a snowflake on the tag but did not want the natural look so I pulled out my silver ink and embossed it using some Iridescent Ice.  It is really sparkly now so all I had to do was add a silver ribbon.  I wanted to use a different color as I had used Soft Sky on another card.  I decided to use Wisteria Wonder.  I cut my panel to put my tag on and rounded my corners.  I wanted a white background so I needed something other than Wisteria Wonder for the banner.  I decided to use Smoky Slate and then cut out the word "Snow" instead of a banner.   I traced it with my glitter pen so it is sparkly also.  Here is what my final creation looked like.  I am sure the ladies will love it!

Thanks for visiting me today.  Are you going to be doing some Black Friday shopping?  I used to brave the crowds years ago but not lately.  I would rather do my shopping online and avoid the pushing and shoving.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Snowflake Bling

I hope you are ready for the family and friends who will be joining you around your table today!  Hopefully you will not have to spend your day in the kitchen but will be able to enjoy the day.  Maybe you will be able to even "carve" (hahaha play on words here!) out some time to visit your craft room and be creative.

My card today uses the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps.

My friend Amanda shared a snowflake element she made using a picture she found on the internet.  I thought that element would be perfect for the circle element in the sketch.  I made the element and used some of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum with the snowflakes on the top portion of the card.  I then embossed a piece of Soft Sky with the Softly Falling embossing folder for the bottom.  I added a strip of the white glitter ribbon and added my snowflake element.  Here is another card my ladies will make in my next workshop.

Coloring Down the Lines - Sheltering Tree

Hello Stampers!

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?  You have today to get any goodies or dishes that you can make ahead of time made and ready for tomorrow.  I hope your day won't be too hectic!

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the beginning of the hop so make sure you hop on through to see what the other ladies made for you.

This week our colors were chosen by me.

Stampin' Up color matches

I don't know what I was thinking when I chose these colors.  It was a real challenge for me as well as the other ladies asked what I was thinking.

When I looked at these the only thing I could think of was a fall tree.  I pulled out my Sheltering Tree and stamped the tree with Chocolate Chip.  I then used the So Saffron to stamp the large leaf image.  To add some color, I used the small individual leaves and stamped them with Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie. After I had my tree completed, I cut the panel down and rounded the corners.  I pulled out my paper stacks and added a background in Pumpkin Pie.  I did not have any chocolate chip ribbon so I pulled my Early Espresso cotton ribbon and added it as it is close to Chocolate Chip.  Here is my card for the hop.

Silver Threads

Hello Stampers!

Wow it got cold last night.  Jess and I both have had a hard time warming up today.  I had a photo from my friend in Chicago and she had snow on Saturday.  We were not that cold today as the sun was shining which helped.  I would love to have snow for Christmas but our chances are very slim.

I had not played with some challenges lately so checked out the blogs to see what I could find.  I found a color challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches

I decided to use an idea I saw in one of my Facebook groups where they use vellum.  I pulled out the October Paper Pumpkin to use the image as it can look like a poinsettia.  I stamped my image on the vellum in Memento Black and colored the back with the Watermelon Wonder marker.  I added some sparkle by using my clear star gelly roll pen to the stamen.  I cut them out and determined where they would be on the front of my card.  I stamped the leaf sprays strategically based on where the flowers would be.  I wanted something in the upper right hand corner so I pulled out my embossing folder - Lucky Stars - and just embossed the upper corner.  To use the Metallic Silver in the color challenge I  pulled out my metallic thread.  Here is what my creation looked like.

Timeless Thank You

Hello Ladies!

I had a great weekend but I came home and I think I am getting a cold.  I don't feel bad but I have a lot of congestion which means I have a headache and a cough.  I will get lots of rest the next few days and take it easy.

My card today is another one that I made using the Timeless Elegance ds paper.  I saw one similar to this on the internet somewhere and I liked it.  I decided to CASE it and add my twist.  I think this made a very pretty card that the receiver would love.  The lace and punch flowers with pearls adds a very feminine touch.  Here is my version of the card.

Coloring Down the Lines - Spring Circle

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I got some videos made yesterday.  I did 2 alternative projects for the November Paper Pumpkin.  I will post them in the next few days.

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were found in this gorgeous picture.

Stampin' Up color matches

I pulled all my colors and just stared at them for a while.  I then remembered the Circle of Spring and knew I wanted to use it with these colors.  I stamped the wreath and then used a blender pen and ink in the lid to color it in.  I then stamped the wreath and using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits dies I cut out the wreath and the bow.  I decided to mount the wreath on a piece of Calypso Coral so I went into my paper storage and found a piece that had been embossed with the brick wall folder.  I knew it was perfect for my wreath.  I mounted my wreath and then needed a sentiment.  Since I am in need of thank you cards I decided to use this card for one of them.  I stamped the Thank You and then used the hexagon punch to cut it out smaller.  I then punched out another one from Mossy Meadow that was the regular size.  I layered them and used dimensionals to attach to my card.  Here is my finished creation.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Lagoon Sympathy

Hello Everyone!

Well yesterday I was so frustrated.  I am having issues trying to import my videos from my iPhone into iMovie.  I upgraded and purchased the new version of iMovie but for some reason it only imported one and part of another video.  I had 5 to import.  I ended up deleting almost all of my old movies and any of the movies I had attempted to upload and set up.  After about 5 hours I finally got the movies uploaded set up and exported to my folder so I can upload them to You Tube.  I am thinking I need to do something as that was way too long.  Any one got any hints for me?

Today is the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  This time our challenge is a sketch challenge that I designed.

I unfortunately was in the need for a sympathy card so I decided to use this sketch for my card.  I began by using the Vanilla Subtle Stripes satin ribbon.  I used it for the vertical strip down the left side.  I then just added a butterfly and a sentiment and my card was complete.  I used the sentiment from the August Paper Pumpkin.  It was a nice script and I felt it fit my card.  Here is my creation.

Mint Thinking of You

Good Morning Stampers!

Well Remi is back to old self.  She had a marathon nursing session on Saturday and Saturday night and now she is her normal giggly self.  So glad it was just a short lived thing.  She is just too cute to be sick!

Today I found a sketch at Just Add Ink

I liked this and started thinking about the 2 star elements.  I was thinking they could be 2 different shapes so I started looking in the catalog at the framelits.  I found a shape I liked in the Chalk Talk framelits.  I then thought about using a bow for the smaller shape.  I saw one in another set of framelits but then decided to use the bow punch.  Now I needed the strip down the side and sentiment strip.  I pulled out my Timeless Elegance ds paper for the 2 shapes and then found another piece for the strip.  So I used the Timeless Elegance paper for the major elements of the card.  I decided to use the sponge method to ink up the leaves and not ink the flower.  This way I could use Mint Macaron ink as the accent color.  Here is what my finished project looked like.
