Halloween Week - Project 6

Hello Stampers!

Well today is the last day for my Halloween Week.  All the little ones will be out tonight trick-or-treating and having a good time!  I will either be babysitting Remi or watching TV.

For my card today I decided to use another sketch challenge.  I found a great one at Match the Sketch challenge.

I had a few pieces of the Happy Haunting Halloween paper left so I decided to use it for my card.  I cut one piece for the background and then went looking for another piece for the horizontal piece.  I was going to use another piece of the paper but it was too busy so I decided to go with a piece of Vanilla card stock and emboss it.  After that I wanted to add a bat so I remembered you can punch a butterfly and then cut off the bottom to make the bat.  Here is my final card.

Halloween Week - Project 5

Happy Friday Everyone!

Are you ready for your trick-or-treaters tomorrow night?  It is supposed to be a good night weather wise here - no rain and not cold.  Zoie is going as a witch this year.  I will try to get a picture to post on Sunday.

Today I have a treat holder for my Halloween Week project.  I wanted to make a sour cream holder but I could not remember the size of the paper I needed.  I went looking and found directions.  I cut my paper and when I put it together to make my tube it was a lot skinnier than the ones I have made in the past.  I thought it was a cute size and the only problem I had was getting the paper to fold to make my tube.  I used a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" paper.  If I make this size again, I would roll the paper into a tube before I took the backing off the Tear & Tape.  I added a spider web doily and a trick-or-treat sentiment and a little pumpkin.  Here is my M & M filled sour cream container.

Halloween Week - Project 4

Good Morning Stampers!

Have you finished all your Halloween cards?  They need to be mailed out or they will be late.  If you still need a few ideas, I have one for you today.

I liked the sketch at CAS on Sunday.  I think this would be a fun sketch to play with so I decided to give it a try.

So I pulled out my Happy Haunting ds paper for the 2 rectangles.  After I had them cut and my other elements laying on my card it was missing something.  So I thought about it a minute and remembered the Woodland embossing folder.  I embossed the card front using the folder.  Then I added the pieces back to the card front and I liked the look.  I needed a sentiment so I went to my September Paper Pumpkin again.  My card is complete.  Here is what it looked like.

Halloween Week - Project 3

Happy Mid Week Stampers!

I had several appointments yesterday and did not have as much time in my craft room as I had hoped.  I did get a little bit of time to make my card for today as well as one for tomorrow.  I am hoping to finish my video as well as make a few more projects for the rest of the week.

Our Coloring Down the Lines hop is today.  This week our colors were chosen by me.

I have been in a quick and easy mode lately so I went looking for a sketch that would fit the bill.  I found on at Less is More and decided to use their sketch.

I knew I needed to keep with my Halloween theme and these colors were going to be a challenge.  I was hoping the sketch would help me out.  I did take the base and flipped it but not the arrow element.  I looked at the images in my Halloween set and decided to try the jack-o-lantern with the Cajun Craze.  I stamped them on Vanilla and then cut them out with the matching framelit.  I then used the spiders to stamp a background.  I had stamped them all over creating my own patterned paper.  When I put the jack-o-lanterns on the page they were lost.  I then decided to redo the background and just add 3 spiders.  I then used my silver spica pen to add the spider thread.  My card was complete.  Here is what it looks like.

Halloween Week - Project 2

Good Morning Everyone!

It was chilly and overcast most of the day yesterday.  Perfect day for creating.  I spent some time in my craft room working on my October Paper Pumpkin Project Life page.  I got my video created and uploaded to my Paper Pumpkin group Facebook group.  I really like it as I used the stamped image in a different way.

Today I have another Halloween project for you.  You have seen me take sketch challenges and make cards.  Today I took a sketch challenge and made a treat bag.  I used the sketch from Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge.

October 23, 2015 - Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge - check it out at www.SimplySimpleStamping.com.

I took some liberty and  rotated the base of the sketch.  I also moved my sentiment to the top.  I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets to create a treat bag.  I then added a spider web doily, some spiders and the word BOO.  I used some silver thread to hang the spiders from the web.  Here is what my treat bag looks like.

Halloween Week - Card 1

Happy Monday Ladies!

I thought I would use this week to do various Halloween cards and treat holders using the Happy Haunting ds paper.  I have some of this left and I thought about using some of it for some creations this week.

Today I have a card for you.  I began with the sketch challenge at The Paper Players

I decided to use the Howl-o-ween Treat bundle as I wanted to use the hat and spider.  I stamped them and cut them out.  Then I needed a sentiment so I turned to my Seasonal Frame Thinlits and my black glimmer paper to cut out my word.  Next I had to cut a background so I went looking for a patterned paper that would not be too busy for the objects.  I chose to use the plaid.  I cut my strips 1 1/4" and mounted them on a piece of Basic Black.  I mounted that on a Tangelo Twist card base.  Now I just needed to add my elements and my card was complete.  Here is my creation.

Timeless Celebrate You

Good Morning Everyone!

I worked on my pocket letter insert yesterday.  I got one item totally finished.  I am hoping today to finish the card so I can mail them out this week.  We each chose a letter in Merry Xmas.  We use that letter to design a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" card and include the letter we chose on the card.  Then we mail all 9 cards to the leader and she sets out all the cards and gives everyone 1 copy of each card.  She mails them all back to us and we put them in our pockets.  When I get mine back I will be sure to share them with you.

My card today is another example of a card you can make using the Timeless Elegance ds paper.  I used a sketch challenge for this one but do not remember which one I used.  It was a simple card but this paper is so beautiful that the simple sketches are perfect for it.  Here is another example.

Another Timeless Elegance idea

Hello Everyone!

Well yesterday was gorgeous!  It was supposed to be cold but the weather man got it wrong.  I am thinking the front did not come through like they thought it would.  I missed the weather last night so I am not certain what changes are in store for us.

Today I am sharing another card I created using the Timeless Elegance ds paper.  I want to have quite a few ideas for the ladies so they can go home and make some other cards using this beautiful paper.

Alternate Ideas for October Paper Pumpkin

Happy Friday!

Well it is the weekend and I for one am glad.  I have some ladies coming today and some tomorrow to do my Birthday Binder class.  We will have some inky fun!  After that I am hoping to play in my craft room.  I want to make some more alternative ideas for the kit this month.  If you did not get it you are missing out!

My first alternative idea is a card.  I used a sketch I found at Match The Sketch

Here is my card and the video.

Next I worked on my 2 page layout.  For this one I used some of the patterned pieces from the kit.  Here is my layout and the video.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be working on more alternative ideas.  If you would like to see them sign up for Paper Pumpkin with me.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Finally October Paper Pumpkin

Hello Stampers!

Well I finally got to do some video taping yesterday.  I opened the October Paper Pumpkin and then video taped the 3 cards in the kit.  There were some tips I shared in the videos.  Hope you find them helpful.

Today I am hoping to work on some alternative ideas but it will depend on how much I can video tape.  Here are the videos for the few things I taped yesterday.

I hope these posted correctly as I had some issues with You Tube.  They looked funny when I posted them so not sure how they will look for you.

Coloring Down the Lines - Fall

Happy Mid-Week Everyone!

Well our weather is supposed to warm up for the next few days.  I plan on spending some time playing and making videos today.  I started last night on making my cards for the tin of cards.  I made the one sample then changed the others up on the heart cut out - was not fond of that paper!  The others I will probably do the way they have them but use different sentiments.

This week our colors were chosen by me.  When I saw this picture I just knew we had to play with these colors.  Can't you see yourself standing in the woods and looking at this?

Stampin' Up color matches

These colors were similar to the ones I used a few days ago so I decided to do some thinking about this one.  I decided to try something.  I pulled out my White Christmas stamp set.  I stamped the trees and then I used the leaves stamp from Sheltering Tree to fill it in with Fall colors.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Falala

Hello Stampers!

Well I spent yesterday preparing for my Birthday Binder class for this evening.  I had a lot of paper to cut and sequins to count out.  I am ready for the ladies who will be coming this evening.  Needless to say I did not get any videos made.  I am going to try and film a few this morning.  I need to get my Paper Pumpkin ones done!

Today is the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I originally approached this sketch the way it was designed, but then decided to rotate the sketch.  I had stamped and die cut a tree and was going to use it for the chevron element.  But no matter what I did I could not get the card to look right with the partial circle.  So I decided to go in another direction.  I moved the tree down to be the circle element.  I then punched out some stars.  I needed to address the chevron element so I went with a die cut word.  Here is what my final creation looks like.

Timeless Thank You

Hello Everyone!

Well I had to break down and turn on the heat.  When I got up yesterday it was 63 in my house.  That is just too cold for the kids so I turned on my heat pump.  I was cold last night also so I knew it would be pretty chilly.  The weather will warm up on Wednesday so it won't run much.  What is the weather like in your area?

Today I wanted to offer another idea for the Timeless Elegance ds paper.  There was a simple sketch at Pals Paper Arts that I knew would work.

PPA272

I decided to use a light color for the background again.  This time I went with the circle design.  When I wanted a piece for the horizontal stripe I chose to use a piece that carried the circle theme through.  Then I needed my sentiment and I added a bow to complete the card.  Here is my version of the sketch.

Freshly Made Timeless Elegance

Hello Stampers!

Wow it is very chilly here.  We did not get any frost but some areas did.  I have not turned my heat on yet as it is supposed to be back up to 70 by Wednesday.  I may have to break down though.

I wanted to play with my Timeless Elegance ds paper again and come up with another idea for using this paper.  I found a great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches that would be perfect to use.

I checked out the paper as I knew I wanted the background to be light in color with the larger rectangle being dark.  I thought the geometric pattern and the stripes went together well so chose both of those.  I then turned to my Tin of Cards stamp set for my sentiment.  When I stamped it it seemed bare so I added some flowers at the top.  Here is what my card looks like.

Nacho Average Hello

Hello Ladies!

Well I managed to carve out some time after my ladies left and helping Jess with Remi to do a little stamping.  I got 3 cards made and still want to make more today.  I will have the house to myself so I should be able to get more done.

I am offering a Little Black Box class next month and I have the cards and box finished and I am working on the belly band.  As part of the class, my ladies will get 1/2 package of Timeless Elegance ds paper.  We will be making 6 cards for the box.  I always like to share with them some other ideas they can do with the paper.

I decided to go looking for some sketch challenges to use to make my cards.  I found a good one at Nacho Average Challenges

I love this paper and I used the Basic Black, Sahara Sand, and Very Vanilla for the cards in the box so I wanted to show them that they can use other colors with these papers as well.  I love black and Bermuda Bay together so I decided to to use those on my card.  I chose my paper and then using the ink pad and a sponge dauber I colored the flowers on the paper.  Then I just needed to add my mat and attach to my card.  I needed a sentiment to I went to my Tin of Cards set as it has some great ones.  I chose a simple Hello.  Here is my final creation.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  It is important that you or your loved ones get a mammogram.  Make sure you schedule one soon as early detection is important.

Today I have another Online Convention Christmas card.  I really like this card.  I don't know if it is the colors or the design but something about it just speaks to me.  You will have to let me know what you think of this card.

Magic of the Season Online Convention Card

Hello Ladies!

I was gone all day yesterday and then last night I cut the card stock for my Christmas Card Club.  Today I am taking some time to myself and going to the yarn shop.  Tonight I will set up for the class tomorrow.

Today I am sharing another one of the cards I made during the Online Convention.  They had some extra projects on Sunday and this is one of the cards I made from the tutorials.  It is a quick card and you could easily change things out with what you have.  Great to use to mass produce!  Here is my version.
