Paper Craft Crew - Boo

Hello Stampers!

Well I was able to make the little treats for my ladies who come to my workshop this month.  I worked on them during my Paper Pumpkin Party yesterday and then finished them up when everyone was gone.  I need to get some little treat for the inside and put the belly band on.  I think they are going to like it.  I will share it after my workshop.

My card today began with the fun sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 159. #papercraftcrew #cardsketch #papercrafts

I liked this sketch and my mind started racing with ideas.  I thought it would be fun to use the witch's hat in Howl-o-ween Treat for the star shape.  I embossed it and cut it out using the matching framelits.  I needed to address the speckles behind it so I thought what about using one of our spider webs and sponging over the it to create the look of a web.  I used Smokey Slate to do the sponging to keep it soft.  Next I needed to address the arrow.  Well as luck would have it there is a wand in the set so I used it.  Now I needed the 2 banners.  There is an adorable spider in the set.  I stamped it and used the framelit to cut it out.  I decided to use a dimensional to attach it to the card and then used a Basic Black marker to draw a web line down to it.  Now I needed to do the other banner.  I thought it would be fun to make a banner that was hanging from the wand.  I searched high and low for a stamp set that had the work "Boo" or something I could use.  I could not find anything.  As luck would have it, my Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Project Life accessory pack was sitting there and what did I spy?  Letters!  I pulled out a piece of paper and attached my letters to it.  I then cut it down and ran some Basic Black baker's twine through it to make it a hanger.  I the attached it to the wand using glue dots.  I then placed all my elements and added my candy dots.  Here is my final creation.

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild - Happy Haunting

Good Morning Stampers!

Can you believe September is the day after tomorrow.  This month has flown by.  I still have so much to do.  I have to see where I stand with the craft fair and I have a few commitments I need to get going on.  I will be very busy but that is good.

Each weekend the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Facebook group has a sketch challenge.  I try to do this when I can.  This weekend there was an interesting sketch.

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge - August 28, 2015 - join us at www.SimplySimpleStamping.com

I decided to play along with this sketch and use the card as one of ones my ladies will make this week in my workshop.  My theme this month is A Haunting We Will Go!  We will be making Halloween cards.  I pulled out my Happy Haunting ds paper to use for the card.  I wanted the ladies to use some of this fun paper in my workshop.  With the sketch and the paper the card came together fairly quickly.  Here is my creation.

August Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Cards

Hello Ladies!

I had a very productive day yesterday.  Zoie decided to go to my sister's house instead of my sister coming here.  With her gone all afternoon I was able to make quite a few videos.  I am on a roll with this month's Paper Pumpkin.  So far I have created a 2 page layout scrapbook page, a Project Life page, and 8 alternative cards.  That does not include the 2 cards and the box the kit has you make.  I still have a lot of supplies left that I will be playing with.  Most of these project are for my Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  If you want these exclusive projects, sign up with me for Paper Pumpkin.

Today I am sharing the video for 2 of the alternate cards I made.  Here is the first one.

Here is the video for this one.

Here is the second card I made with items from the kit.

Here is the video for this one.

Want to see some of the other cards and a Project Life page I designed, sign up to get access to the Facebook group.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be working on Halloween cards and the goodie for my ladies who come to the workshop today since I did not get to them yesterday.  I have to have my cards and goodies made for my workshop this week.  Have a Super Saturday!

The Paper Plunge - Howl-o-ween fun

Happy Friday Stampers!

Well last night I babysat Zoie and Remi while Jess and Chris went to dinner for their 10th anniversary.  Hard to believe it has been 10 years.  The girls were great and they had a good dinner.  It was good for them to get out by themselves.

Today is the Paper Plunge challenge.  This week our challenge was to do some "wet" embossing.  I decided to do another Halloween card.  I used the Howl-o-ween Test set and embossed the witch's hat and the jack-o-lantern. There was a fun sketch challenge at SUDSOL this week and I used the sketch for this one.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

Alternative Paper Pumpkin project

Good Morning Ladies!

Well I spent many hours again yesterday playing with my videos to get them ready for my post today.  I have got to figure out a better way to do this.  Anyone out there be able to help me out?  Contact me!  I use an iPhone 6 and iMovie on my laptop.

Ok, first off I have a picture of the wreath Candice and I made the other day.  I took a picture of it hanging on my door so you can see how big it is.  I love how sunny and cheery it is.

Now on to my videos.  Today I am sharing the videos I made showing you how you can use the August Paper Pumpkin Kit - Chalk it up to Love to make a 2 page layout scrapbook page.  I enjoyed designing this project.  I will put pictures of my grand daughters on it.  The videos were so long I broke them down into 4 parts.

Coloring Down the Lines - Friends

Good Morning Everyone!

I am excited about the wreath that Candice and I made yesterday.  I did not have enough light yesterday to get a photo so I will get one today and post it tomorrow.  After doing this one I am going to get the supplies and try a Halloween wreath.  I use to have a wreath on my front door for each month.  For those I had used grapevine wreaths but my door has direct morning sun and the heat between the storm door and inside door caused the glue to melt.  I am hoping this will work as there is no glue!

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  Our colors this week were chosen by Liz

Stampin' Up color matches

Aren't these colors great?  I just love them.  When I looked at them I thought of butterflies as you could combine the pinks and purples for 2 toned ones.

I saw a great sketch that I thought would be make a great card that would be easy to mail.  The sketch at Sunday Stamps was a great one and this is a new challenge blog for me.

I pulled out my stamps and colors.  After I had them stamped, I decided to add my sentiment in the lower corner.  I love the stamp in Garden in Bloom but only the "Friends" part.  I used a post-it to mask off the rest of the sentiment and inked it up.  I then took off the post-it and stamped it on my card.  I then just needed to add my ribbon and mount it on my card base.  Here is my finished creation.

Angled Day

Hello Stampers!

I got to play a little bit yesterday.  I spent the morning trying to get my video straight.  I need to do some playing to see what I am doing wrong. Hopefully I can figure it out.  After that I played in my craft room and made a few cards.

For my card today, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do.  I decided to check out some challenge blogs.  I found a sketch challenge that was a clean and simple one at Less is More

When I looked at this sketch I thought of ds paper for the top part.  I looked at the paper I had in my stash and saw the Bohemian ds paper.  I decided to use some of that since I had not played with it in a while.  I decided to use it for the top section.  I checked out several of the papers and decided to  use the simple ds paper in the stack.  I added it to a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock.  I love the new cotton ribbon that will be available next week.  Since it matches the card stock I decided to use it also.  Once I had the card put together, I decided to add a stamped image below the angled paper.  I pulled out the Seasonal Snapshot set and use the zigzag pattern in there.  Now I needed to add my sentiment and my card was done.  Here is what my final creation looked like.

August Paper Pumpkin

Hi Ladies!

It is really late as I have struggled with my videos for some reason.  It took me many, many, many hours to get just these 2 ready to post.  I have another video I will work on today and post.

I get the Paper Pumpkin each month.  I love the kit and there are so many possibilities with it not to mention you get a great stamp set each month.  Stampin' Up includes directions and also does a video as to how to put the together the kit.  The directions are minimal and the video does not have any words so I decided to do a video showing my customers as well as any of you how to put the kit together along with some hints.  Here is the first set of videos for you.  I hope you enjoy them.

I Love Shaker Cards!

Hello Stampers!

I did not get as much done as I wanted to yesterday.  I did make my treat for my ladies for my workshop next month done (I will make the rest of them when I know how many I need), I made a treat holder for my craft fair, and I finished up the sample projects for the Paper Pumpkin for August.  I also started working on one of my alternative projects.  I have some problems trying to video with my grand daughter here.  Since I want to get them done I have to work around when it is quiet enough for me to tape.

I love shaker cards!  I think they are so much fun.  It has been a while since I made one so I decided to play with an idea I had.  I saw a sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges that I thought would work for my idea.

Paper Craft Crew August 19, 2015 Card Sketch 158. #papercraftcrew #stampinup #sunnygirlscraps #challengeblog

At Convention I won the Howl-o-ween Treat stamp set in a prize patrol.   I did not win the matching framelits so I had to order them.  I thought it would be fun to use the witch hat framelit as the shape for my shaker card.  I cut the hat out of black.  I decided to  make the base of the card Rich Razzleberry which I embossed with the large polka dot embossing folder.  I set up the base for my shaker card and then added my sequins.  I decided to use some green sequins I had as the band on the hat.  I glued them in place with glue dots and then added some other colors I had.  Before I added my top layer with my window sheet over the opening, I attached some Pumpkin Pie 1/8" taffeta ribbon I had.  I then added my top to my base using some Multipurpose Liquid Glue and my shaker card was done.  To address the 3 circle elements in the lower left corner, I decided to use the word Spooky from the Seasonal Frame thinlits die.  When I laid it on my card you could not see it since I cut it our of black and the shaker frame was black.  I pulled out my white craft ink and sponged it.  Now you could see the word.  I added it in the lower left hand corner in place of the 3 circles.  Here is what my final creation looks like.

Weekend Sketch Challenge

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Yesterday I had some ladies here to stamp and then I worked on my Paper Pumpkin.  Last night I realized I did not have a card to post today so I went with the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge - August 21, 2015 - join us at www.SimplySimpleStamping.com

When I first looked at the sketch I tried to think of something that I could stamp 3 times.  Nothing struck me and then I saw the Festival of Trees stamp set.  I went looking at my paper and thought about the beautiful Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer series paper.  I thought the gold would be a great background for some cherry trees.  I had originally pulled out the gold modern looking pattern but then saw the one with the polka dots.  I decided to use the polka dots so I could add the elegant tree design.  Once I had it stamped I used the tree punch to punch them out.  I decided to use the brushed gold cardstock for my card base and it seemed to go with the polka dots.  I just needed a sentiment and looked for an elegant one to use.  I could not find one so I just used the one in the stamp set.  Here is my take on the sketch challenge.

The Paper Plunge - Gray and Pink

Happy Friday Stampers!

I have some ladies coming this morning for my Swap Stampede class.  I had a couple on Tuesday evening and they loved the cards and the ideas they can use when they see a card they like.

Today is the Paper Plunge challenge.  This week we are using Basic Gray and one other color.  This was a no brainer for me as I love gray and pink together.  I decided to use Blushing Bride as I wanted a darker pink than Pink Pirouette.

I decided to see if I could find a challenge I could use.  I checked out some challenge blogs and found a great idea at SU - Only Challenges.  Their challenge was to make a card without any words.  Since most of the time I don't use sentiments on my card this was an easy one to do.

I pulled out my supplies and started creating layers.  Once I had my layers made I decided to do some embossing.  I was much happier with the embossed layers.

I then decided to use the new corner punch to make a tag for the top of the layers.  Once my tag was made I needed to decorate it.  I went with some flowers using my punches.  I then added some matching ribbon and my card is finished.  Here is my creation.

Same Sketch Four Ways - Day 4

Hello Everyone!

Well today is the last day for me to share my different versions of the same sketch.  I also have something different for you today.  I attended a session at Convention on using videos on your blog.  I decided then and there that this might be a good way for me to keep my business going should I move in a few years.

As always I used the sketch from Clean & Simple

I decided to try a few different things on this last card.  To show you how I went about making my card, I decided to do a video of the process.  Here is my video.

Here is the finished card.

Same Sketch Four Ways - Day 3

Happy Mid Week Everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying their week.  Our weather got hot and humid here again so it has been good to stay inside and be creative.  I have taken advantage of having my cards made this week to work on some more craft fair items.  I am slowly getting more and more items finished so I will have a full table for the event.

I have another card to share with you today using the sketch at Clean & Simple

It is also our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were chosen by me.

Stampin' Up color matches

With the colors I had to choose from, I decided to use a Thanksgiving theme for my card.  I did not have any current Fall ds paper so I decided to use some of the Bohemian ds paper.  The other papers in the stack did not have the colors I had to use in them so I decided to use 2 of the colors and 2 images in the stamp set to make my panel.  I added the ds paper and then chose Pear Pizzazz and
Tangelo Twist to create the upper panel to the sketch.  I mounted this onto a Tangelo Twist layer and attached to my card.  I stamped the sentiment using Tangelo Twist and used markers in the 3 colors to color my leaf.  Here is my Thanksgiving card using the same sketch.

Same Sketch Four Ways - Day 2

Hello Ladies!

Well last night I had to work.  I coordinate a graduate program for a state college at our local Higher Education Center.  We always do a recognition ceremony for the students who graduate during the school year.  They can go to the regular graduation ceremony on campus but that is 2 hours away and not always at a convenient time for our people who work.  We do a small ceremony at the local college for our graduates.  We had the recognition ceremony last night.  The graduates appreciate this small ceremony.  It is always great to see those who have worked hard and gotten their Master's degree.

Yesterday I took a sketch and made a Halloween card using that sketch.  Today I am using the same sketch from Clean & Simple and making another card.

This time I decided to go with a different theme.  I kept the sketch the same but this time I made a Christmas themed card.  This time I used the same stamp set for the sentiment.  This set is great as it covers most of the holidays for the Fall including back to school.  This time I pulled out the Season of Cheer ds paper that I got at Convention.  Here is my Christmas card using this sketch.

Same Sketch Four Ways - Day 1

Happy Monday Stampers!

Well our kids go back to school this week.  Things have been gearing up for a few weeks.  The road I live on is usually very quiet except when school is in session.  Then the drop offs and pick ups make the road very busy.  I try to avoid those times in order to avoid the long lines.  When do the kids start school in your area?

I decided to try something new for a few days.  I was making a card using a sketch challenge.  As I was making it I realized you could very easily change the look.  I decided to use the sketch and make 3 different cards.  Over the next 2 days I will share the other cards I made using the same sketch.

I began with the sketch at Clean & Simple

For my first card I went with a Halloween theme.  I used some of the Happy Haunting designer series paper for the horizontal strips and mounted it onto a strip of Tangelo Twist card stock.  I then stamped the bat on a piece of vanilla and punched it out.  I added a punched Tangerine layer behind it and popped it on my card.  Next I inked up my sentiment and then used a black marker to go around the outside of the words.  Here is what my final creation looks like.

Jingle All the Way

Good Morning Stampers!

Well I had a great lunch with my friend yesterday.  We always talk about doing it more often but both of us are very busy.  We will do our best to see if we can do it again next month.  As the holidays approach it gets harder as we both get busy.

I also spent some time in my craft room yesterday.  I managed to make some cards to post this week and I am trying a new idea tomorrow so make sure you come back to see what I came up with.

My card today uses the Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend sketch challenge.

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge - August 14, 2015 - join us at www.SimplySimpleStamping.com

I thought it would be a great sketch to play with and I decided to try some new items from the upcoming holiday catalog.  When I saw the square main panel I thought it would be good to use the Sleigh Ride Edglits dies.  After I cut it out I decided to use the Softly Falling Textured embossing folder for the background.  Once I put the sleigh ride cut out on the background it looked funny so I ended up embossing the lower edge of the cut out.  I then used markers and sponge daubers to color the sleigh and horse.  I decided to mount this panel on a piece of striped Holidays Fancy Foil Designer vellum.  All I needed was to address the horizontal strip.  I again used a piece of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer vellum.  I then added a sentiment with silver and silver embossing powder under the strip.  Here is what my creation looked like.

Petite Grunge

Hello Everyone!

Well I did not get any crafting done yesterday.  I had to babysit while Jess went to a funeral.  After that she helped me get my new tv's up in my craft room and bedroom.  I am excited as both of my previous tv's were 10 years old and very small.  Now I have Smart tv's with wifi built in.  Not to mention the fact that they have a much larger screen.  I am looking forward to using them.  I am hoping I can use them to also watch my classes I signed up for.  It would be nice to have them on the screen rather than my iPad.

I found a new challenge the other day that I wanted to give a try.  Sunday Stamps had a great color challenge.

Aren't these color gorgeous!  I saw them as Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, and Blushing Bride.  I just loved them and wanted to see what I could do with them.  I had some Cherry Cobbler thick twine so I pulled out some threads.  I then decided to use my Gorgeous Grunge
