The Paper Plunge - ATC to card

Happy Friday Stampers!

Well Michaela and Josh got off fine.  I was a little concerned as we had a major storm front go through on our way to the airport.  I also got caught in rush hour traffic so I had an interesting ride home.

Today is the Paper Plunge challenge.  This week our challenge is to take the ATC we created last week and create a full card with it.

I ran across a perfect sketch for this by accident.  The I Love Card Sketches blog sketch jumped out at me as the element was about the size of an ATC.

     ILCS38

I was thinking about the sketch and how I was going to finish it off.  I thought it would be fun to use some patterned paper for the flags.  Then I added an embossed card base to place my ATC on.  Here is my creation.

Another Pillow Gift

Hello Stampers!

Well last night was interesting.  Michaela and Josh are here from California.  The girls decided to do hard crabs for dinner.  Josh has never picked crabs so it was an instructional lesson for him and when he got the hang of it he thoroughly enjoyed them.  The girls did too but I on the other hand had steamed shrimp.  I love crab cakes but not a big fan of hard crabs.  We had a great time but then had to spend the next several hours picking the crabs we did not eat.  I will probably make crab cakes with the left over crab meat.

My share today is another Pillow Gift I did for my friends.  I saw an idea similar to this on another demo's website.  The one she had made had a chocolate in the center.  I decided to modify the idea and include a Eos lip balm.  Here is my version of the original item.

Coloring Down the Lines - Thanks

Happy Mid week Stampers!

I hope you are having a good week.  I am taking this week to share some of my swaps from Convention as I want to make sure you have something to look at each day.  This will give me a chance to regroup and focus on my creations.  I do have my Holiday Mini preorder coming tomorrow so I am hoping to play with some of that.

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  We have a full hop this week now that is everyone is back from Convention.  This week our colors were chosen by Helen.

Aren't these great colors!  I love the combination.  I decided to play along with the Paper Craft Crew Challenges as I had not played with them in a while.

I loved this sketch and knew it would be perfect for my card.  I decided to color my doily with alcohol ink I made.  I loved the Pool Party and Lost Lagoon color combo so I used those for the half circle element.  I also used some of the new Subtles Color Collection paper stack.  The sentiment gave me a problem trying to find something small enough.  I finally found something I could use in Something to Say. Now my card was coming together.  Here is what I created.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - By the Tide

Hello Everyone!

Well yesterday I spent with my girls (daughters and grand daughters).  We had a great time.  We went to lunch then to the pool for a while.  We had a great day and I am looking forward to having some more time with them on Wednesday along with Josh.

Today we have a great sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I had no clue what I was going to do with this challenge.  I decided to pull out my By the Tide stamp set to use on this one.  The reason I chose this set was the long element at the top I thought  was perfect for the lobster.  I then used the shell for one of the square elements and decided to make a life preserver for the other square image.  Here is my version of the sketch.

Washi Tape swap

Happy Monday Ladies!

I so had a good time at Convention.  It was great to see my friends and I have never laughed so hard and so much!  I am so sad that I won't see them again for a long time.  I have added a tab at the top for Convention 2015 so you can see the samples boards from this year.

Today I am going to share with you one of the swaps I did.  I tried to do some different kinds of swaps this year so I decided to do a washi tape swap.  We had to create a card using washi tape.  Here is the swap I created to share.

Paper Pumpkin Swap

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I having my first Paper Pumpkin Party.  My ladies who have signed up for Paper Pumpkin with me will bring their Paper Pumpkins and put them together.  I will share with them some alternative ideas for the kit including a 2 page scrapbook spread and a Project Life page.  I am excited to see how this goes.

Another swap I signed up for at Convention was Alternative Uses for Paper Pumpkin.  I thought it would be fun to show them how to make a Project Life page with the kit.  I chose to use the Sew You kit.  I love this kit and I love how this page turned out.  Here is what I did with the kit.

3 x 3 swap

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is the last day of Convention.  The sessions are only a half day so I am flying back home this afternoon.  It will be a long day for me but I am anxious to get home as Michaela is here for a visit.

One of the swaps I signed up for at Convention is a 3 x 3.  These little cards are perfect gift cards.  When I signed up for one I knew I wanted to do a slice of watermelon.  This card would be perfect to take to a summer cook out to thank the host.  Here is my swap.

The Paper Plunge - washi tape

Happy Friday Ladies!

Today is the challenge at The Paper Plunge.  This week our task was to create an Artistic Trading Card - ATC.  These are little works of art that measure 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".  They are fun to make and once you make one you can't stop.

For my ATC I chose to use a modified idea from one of my swaps at Convention.  I loved the colors so I use them on my little creation.  Here is my ATC.

Pillow Gift 1

Hello Stampers!

Today is the opening day of Convention.  As part of Convention, we do what we call pillow gifts.  These are little gifts we put together for our friends.  My first pillow gift included items we all need at Convention.  Salt Lake is very dry so we drink a lot of water.  Along with that our skin really feels dry so to help with that I made a Berry Basket and included some hand sanitizer, body lotion, and tissues.  Here is what the little basket looked like.

Coloring Down the Lines - Friend

Good Morning Everyone!

Well I am on my way!  I am so excited to see my friends.  We have not seen each other for a year.  We will cram a lot into 3 days as well as check out all that Stampin' Up has to offer.  I am hoping to post pictures but I will have my iPad so not sure if it will work or not.

Our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop is today.  Several of the girls are out of town or at Convention so we have a short hop today.

Our colors this week were chosen by Liz

I was immediately drawn to the Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler and Wisteria Wonder.  I wanted to use a sketch I saw that I thought would be perfect.  It was a challenge I had not played in before.  Crazy 4 Challenges had this sketch for this week.

I thought I could use the large panel for my images and the smaller panel I wasn't sure what to do with.  I started playing with a variety of things - patterned paper, embossing folders, etc. - but settled on the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.  I thought the stripes on the gray were perfect.  Did you know that tombow - the makers of our snail - also makes some vellum tape runner.  It is awesome and hard to see when you add it to your projects.  After I had my card put together, I did my sentiment.  I did not like it at the bottom so took some liberty and moved it to the top.  Here is my creation.

Workshop Sprinkles

Hello Stampers!

Well today is it.  I packaged up my swaps last night and today I need to finish packing my pillow gifts.  I am getting excited to be able to see my friends.  There are a few of us who only see each other once a year at Convention.  This year a few are missing as they were unable to come.  We have talked about doing our own Convention as there will not be another one for 18 months.

Today I am sharing my fifth card from my workshop.  I thought it would be fun to play with the Sprinkles of Life set and matching punch.  I used a sketch I ran across to design this one.  Here is another card the ladies made.

Simple Blooming

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well I got everything done I needed to.  I have to take pictures tomorrow, print out the recipes for the swaps, and pack it up.  I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have something to share with you every day so come back and see what I have.  The end of the week I will be sharing some of the swaps after I have swapped them out.

Today's card began with the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary

CCMC364

I loved these colors when I saw them and knew I wanted to use them.  With all my creating I was having trouble coming up with an idea for the card so I checked out my sketch challenge blogs.  I found a great sketch challenge at I Love Card Sketches

ILCS37

I love the new patterned paper in the color collections.  There are patterned that are so fun to use.  I decided to use one of them on my card today.  After I had that element added I just needed to do the main panel.  That is where the Garden in Bloom set came in.  I stamped my flowers and butterflies.  I cut out the butterflies and popped them up.  My card was complete.  I think the black really makes it pop.  Here is my creation.

Bordering Wishes

Hello Ladies!

Well I was moving yesterday.  I had a workshop in the morning and then I shifted to creating mode.  I was able to complete 2 cards for next week, 1 of the 2 Paper Pumpkin alternative ideas I have to do, and designed and cut all the paper for the last swap.  Tomorrow I need to finish the swap, the other Paper Pumpkin alternative ideas, and make 2 cards I need for posting next week.  I will be busy but I can get it done.

My card today was for a challenge I had not done in a while.  I found a great color challenge at Colour Me ...... Subtle that I wanted to use.

It has been a while since I have played along with the Weekend Challenge.  I saw the sketch and immediately my mind started creating.  Here is the sketch challenge at Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge

Stampin' Gals Gone Wild Weekend Challenge - presented by www.SimplySimpleStamping.com - July 17,2015

I decided to use my Bordering Bloom set and curved it to match the sketch.  I also used the Butterfly Basics fern.  After I had it stamped I just needed to add a sentiment.  Here is my version of the sketch.

Workshop card number 4

Hello Everyone!

Well I got 2 pillow gifts cut out and ready to take with me.  These are 3D items so I will take them flat and put them together in my hotel room.  It is easier to transport that way.  :)  I have pieces of the 3rd one put together and will finish it up today as well as my last swap.  Then I need to get my Paper Pumpkins ready for my group when I get back from Convention.  I have to design a few alternative ideas and then a Project Life Page and a 2 page scrapbook spread.  I will work on that along with my cards for the next workshop next month so I can send that out when I get back.

Today I an sharing another workshop card I used in my workshop this month.  This one was also one I saw on the internet.  The original card had threads for the loops.  I decided to use thin strips of paper instead of the thread she had used.  I also used a knot of lace trim rather than wrapping the ribbon to make a bow.  Here is my version of the card I saw.

The Paper Plunge - Butterfly Friend

Hello Everyone!

Well I got my Paper Pumpkin swap completed last night.  That leaves me with one swap left and I only need 6 cards for that one.  Then it is one to the pillow gifts.

Today is the challenge at The Paper Plunge.  This week our challenge is Tall and Skinny!  We were to create a card that did not fit the regular size cards.  I pulled out a business envelope as that is the best way to do a card and still be able to mail it with a regular stamp.

I had a strip of black embossed with the Hardwood stamp left over from my swaps.  I cut a piece off of it to go down the side of my card.  I had plans to use a different set but when I laid it out I did not like the look of it.  I decided to play with my new set Watercolor Wings.  I checked out some blogs for colors to stamp the butterflies with.  I found one that I liked the looks of on my computer but when I stamped it, I was not to sure about it.  You will have to let me know what you think.

After I cut the butterflies out I just needed a sentiment.  I found a good one in Sprinkles of Life and added it.  My card was done.  I had a hard time taking a picture of this for some reason.  Sorry my sentiment is blurred.  Here is what I created.

Another July Workshop card

Hello Stampers!

Well I finished up my Project Life swap last night.  I only have 2 swaps left and I know what I am doing for them so I just need to make them.  I also need to work on my pillow gifts.  I started one a few nights ago so I may try and get that done today also.  Lots going on so we will see what I get done!

I thought today I would share with you another one of my July workshop cards.  I again got some inspiration from cards I found on the internet.  This one also uses the English Garden ds paper.  Here is one of the cards the ladies could choose to make at my workshop.

Since this was a workshop card, I did not complete the inside or an envelope.  I will do that before I send it out.

Coloring Down the Lines - Eclectic

Good Morning Ladies!

I spent a lot of time yesterday working on my Project Life swap.  I am using a picnic theme.  So far I have a picnic table, popsicle, and a slice of watermelon.  I need one more idea.  Can you help me out?  Need something not too hard to reproduce as I have 11 to do and I have already spent a lot of time on the other pieces.  Let me know what you think!

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were chosen by Helen.

Stampin' Up color matches

I wasn't sure what to do with these colors.  I started looking at my stamp sets and then I thought I would use the Kinda Eclectic set.  The reason I went with this was I was thinking I could use the Hello Honey for the sunburst.  I stamped that first.  Then I thought what about using the dots with Night of Navy.  Then I decided to do the leaves in Marina Mist.  Before I knew it my card was done.  The only thing I needed to do was add some Cajun Craze butterflies.  So here is what my final creation looked like.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Lacy Because

Hello Ladies!

Guess what I did yesterday?  Here is a picture of my efforts.

I also wanted to share with you the card Zoie made the other day.  Here is the outside of her card with her "rainbow flower".

And here is how she wanted to decorate the inside.

Ok, now on to my card.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have had some changes.  We have a few design team members step down and we are welcoming a new design team member - Linda Gilmore.  Make sure you leave her some love!  Our challenge this week is a color challenge.

I have to admit this color combo was a real challenge for me.  I struggled with combining all the colors.  In the end, I only used one color sparingly.  Here is what I designed for this challenge.

Sweet Floral Butterflies

Hello Stampers!

Well we start another week.  I seem like I post on Monday and then the weekend gets here and then it is Monday again.  Do any of you feel like time is flying by?

I did pretty good yesterday despite the fact that I had Zoie.  I finished up my 3 x 3 Love Note swaps and my 2 x 2 card candy swap (different from the other card candy swap I did).  That leaves me with my Project Life, Paper Pumpkin, and washi tape swaps left to do.  The Paper Pumpkin is designed just need to cut pieces and put it together.  Have an idea for the other 2.  These swaps are small numbers - 10, 8, and 6 - so they won't take me long to do.  I will see if I can't do one tomorrow or at least start on it as I have my English Garden card set class this week.

Today is the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Mary Jo at Technostamper really gave us a challenge this week.

I will be honest when I saw this I was not certain what I was going to do with it.  I decided to tackle the background element first.  I tried to think of what I could use.  I pulled out my catalog and looked at the different thinlit/framelits I have.  I decided to go with the Floral Frames large flower and add some butterflies for the 4 rectangle elements.  I used only 3 as mine were larger and I could not add a 4th one.  I then added the flowers in the lower left and move my sentiment to the lower right.  Here is my interpretation of her sketch.

English Doodles

Hello Everyone!

Well I had most of the day to myself yesterday.  Zoie and Chris went to family fun day and they left at 6:30 in the morning.  When they got home about 5 yesterday Zoie was tired, hungry, and dirty.  She had a good time though and that is all that matters.  I was able to finish up my black and white with a pop of color and have designed and started on my 3 x 3's.  I am hoping to get them finished today but that will depend on whether I have Zoie or not.

My card today began with the sketch challenge at Fab Friday.

I loved the simplicity of this sketch.  I decided to use some of the English Garden ds paper for the small square element.  Are you getting tired of seeing all the different ways I have used it?  I love the doodling in the Tin of Cards set.  I decided I would use it for my card.  After I had it all put together, I should have gone smaller on my square.  I topped it off with a punched flower using the pansy punch and the petite petals punches.  Here is my final creation.
