Blooming Lagoon

Good Morning Everyone!

This will be a quick post as I need to get ready for the Spring Fling.

My card today uses the sketch challenge at Nacho Average Challenges.

I decided to use this for another workshop card.  I also thought I would use another of the new in colors.  Here is my version of the sketch.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  It will be busy day for me.

Blackberry Blossom

It's the weekend!

I have a busy couple of day.  Candice and I are doing our Spring Fling tomorrow.  We spent Wednesday cutting and organizing for it.  Today we are going to set up and make sure we have all the items we need.  It will be a fun day tomorrow.

My card today is one I will use at my workshop in June.  My ladies are going to love making this one.  I began with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I loved the simplicity of this card.  I decided to use some of my new in colors.  I just love Blackberry Bliss.  It looks amazing with Hello Honey.  I love the ribbon that matches these colors.  That satin is so soft and easy to work with.  Here is my finished card.

So you see that cute curly cue on the button?  That is a thin strip of cardstock and I curled the ends around a skewer.  So cute and so quick.

Thanks for visiting me today.  What are your plans for the weekend?  I hope it includes some creative time.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - cow

Good Morning Stampers!

Well yesterday was not a good day!  I finished up my first clue for my mystery knit along.  I decided to look at the spoiler photos from the clue.  When I went in my design element did not look like the others that were posted.  I posted a photo of mine and asked what I had done wrong.  Come to find out I did not have my yarn on the right side when I slipped a stitch.  So I pulled out 22 rows of 5 87 stitches and cast on again.  I was hoping to be able to catch up as clue 3 comes out on Friday.  Guess I will be doing a lot of knitting this weekend to catch up.

My card today is the punch art for Zoie.  I saw a picture that someone posted on Pinterest of several lunch bags with punch art animals on the front.  I saw a cow that I thought was cute so I decided to see what I could do with it.  Here is what I created.

I have to admit that this is not one of my better punch art cards.  I think the face needs to be a little squarer.  What do you think?

Thanks for visiting me today.  Can you believe June is a few days away?  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Coloring Down the Lines - distressed

Good Morning Ladies!

Well I managed to get my walk in yesterday before the rain came.  I am meeting with Candice today to work on our Spring Fling on Saturday so I am hoping to get my walk in later in the day.  I have walked the last few weeks so I want to continue it.  I should hit 3 miles in two more weeks.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  Joni picked our colors for this week.

The colors that match our Stampin' Up colors are

The added piece this week is to add distressing.

I decided to use the Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, and So Saffron as the main part of the card and use the Smoky Slate for the distressing.

I again looked in my catalog to see that one of my favorite sets is retiring - Creative Elements.  I had not used it a while, so I pulled it for my card today.  Here is my version of our challenge.

So are you ready to see what the other ladies created and which colors they chose?  Head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate and see what she did.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope to see you tomorrow so you can see what I did for Zoie.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

SUDSOL Sketch Challenge

Hello Stampers!

Well yesterday was fairly quiet.  Everyone left around 2:30.  Chris had to work and Jess and Zoie went to a barbecue.  I spent some time working on my final project.  All I have to do is decorate it ad it is done.

On Sunday I hosted a chat on our SUDSOL site.  It was fun chatting with the ladies who came into the chat room.  Our challenge was to use the sketch challenge for the week and make a card.  Here is the sketch challenge from last week.

This sketch is perfect for a quick and easy card.  I loved it.  I decided to use some of my retiring ds paper for my card.  I also just got the Open Sea set so I knew this would be a perfect guy card.  Here is what I created using this sketch.

I think I will use this sketch for my workshop in June.  If I have enough of the paper I will use the same card.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I need to work on my Coloring Down the Lines blog hop card for tomorrow as well as finish up my project.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Starfruit Smiles

Happy Memorial Day!

Good Morning Everyone!

Well my plans changed yesterday.  Jess' barbecue got cancelled and they came back home.  They will not go out of town until Tuesday now.  I will have to work around them tomorrow so I can get my last project finished.

My card today is for the sketch challenge at Technostamper.   Here is the sketch from Mary Jo.

This is the last week for the items in the current catalog.  After this week everything retires.  I will be using my retiring colors and ds paper this week so I can use up some of it.  Today's card used some Summer Starfruit card stock and Birthday Basics ds paper.  Here is my interpretation of her sketch.

Thanks for taking time out of your holiday to visit me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Have a Marvelous Memorial Day!

You Are Fabulous!

Hello Everyone!

It will be a quiet day for me.  Jess, Chris, and Zoie are headed to DC for the day.  I will spend the day working on design team commitments and knitting.

My card today was based on 2 challenges I ran across.  I loved the color challenge at Nacho Average Challenges

I decided to combine it with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches

I decided to use the middle rectangle for a sentiment and pulled out a set I just got recently.  I then just needed to add a few other elements to complete the card.  Here is my creation using the 2 challenges.

I think this is a fun card.  I would not have thought about putting the 2 sets together but in this situation they work.

Thanks for visiting me today.  It is going to be another beautiful day today.  Have a Sensational Sunday!

CAS Petite Petals

Hello Stampers!

So do you have any barbecue plans for the long weekend?  The weather is supposed to be gorgeous here so I hope you have good weather also.

Last night there was a Father/Child dinner.  Chris took Zoie and they had a great time.  Here are some pics I took before they left.  Zoie was not very cooperative with the pictures but I was able to get some.

My card today is a clean and simple card and would be perfect for a workshop or to mass produce.  You can also change the sentiment and have it fit any occasion.

There was a fun color challenge at Utah Divas International

I found the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches would be a perfect one with these colors.

After I had my card created, I realized it also fits the challenge at CAS-ology

Week 96: FLOWER

Here is my creation for these challenges.

Are you going to have some time to play this weekend?  I know everyone will be very busy this weekend but it would be nice to take some creative time for yourself.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my CAS card.  Have a Super Saturday!

Hello Reversed Masking

Happy Friday Everyone!

What I fun day I had yesterday.  Zoie and I went to the see the Fairy and Gnome houses at Anne Marie Gardens.  They were so much fun.

She is so skinny she had a hard time keeping her tutu up!

There was another little girl who was also looking at the houses and she and Zoie explored together.

Here are 2 examples of some of the houses.   The first one was titled Downton Fairy House.  The second one was Beach Bungalo2.

After we saw the houses, we went to Chic-fil-et and had lunch.  She then spent some time playing in the play area.  Before we left she got an ice cream cone.  It was a very busy day and she fell asleep when we got home.

My card today is for the SUDSOL Design Challenge.  The challenge was to use reversed masking.  I decided to use some retiring colors and stamp set.  I cut my oval out of typing paper and then covered my card front.  I stamped the hexagon oval image in the center.  I then used markers to color the rose and stamped it in the center.  Finally I took a sponge dauber and pulled some color in towards the center.  Here is my creation.

So do you have some fun plans for the weekend?  Zoie and her dad are going to a Father and Daughter dance tonight.  I will make sure I post some pictures tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be spending a lot of time crafting this weekend as I want to get a lot of commitments finished this weekend.  Have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - dragonfly

Hello Stampers!

Well I only got enough time to play yesterday and make Zoie's card.  I did get my walk in and I cut the grass before the rain came.  So I did get more done than I thought I would.

My card today is Zoie's punch art.  I saw a fabulous idea on Pinterest where Tammy created animals using punched hearts.  I thought the dragonfly was super cute so I decided to make it for Zoie.

I pulled all my heart punches out as I wasn't sure which ones I would need.  I played with the various ones I had and even had to cut some down.  I was able to get the sizes I needed to make the body and wings.  Here is my final creation.

inside of card and envelope

Zoie and I are off to either go to the Marine Museum or to see the Fairy Houses.  We will decide before we leave.  It will be a fun day!

Thanks for visiting me today.  I am going to try and do some challenges in the afternoon when Zoie takes her nap.  Have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Secret Garden

Happy Mid-Week Ladies!

Well yesterday was a blur.  I had so much to do.  I got it all done but other than making this card I did not have any time to play.  :(  Maybe today will be better.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop.  This week our picture was chosen by Laura.

Here are the Stampin' Up colors that I could match up as best as possible.

Wow what a combination of colors.  I don't know about you but I was not sure what to do with them.  I decided to see if I could find a retiring set I could use.  I decided to go with Secret Garden as I could at least use 2 of the greens for the leaves.  I could then add the red and turquoise for the flowers.  I also used the Soft Suede to mount the elements on.  Here is my final creation.

inside of card and envelope

Now it is time to hop on down the line to see what the other ladies created using these colors.  Your next stop is Amanda at Our Crafty Playdate.  I am sure she did a fabulous job with them.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope I have some time to play today.  I need to make Zoie's creation as well as I would like to finish up one of the projects for my design team.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Fabulous Art

Hello Stampers!

Another busy day today.  I did get a chance to play some yesterday.  I worked on 2 other design team commitments.  I completed 1 and made a good start on another 1.  I will try and finish that one and work on my last idea.  Then I have to write up the tutorial and mail out the projects.

My card today is for our Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  This week we had a sketch challenge.

Isn't this a great sketch.  I just knew it would be fun to play with some of my new toys.  I pulled them out and started creating.  I just love the new ds paper called Moonlight. It has some of the in colors in it.  I knew they would be perfect for the strips across the card.  I also wanted to use the new Work of Art card for the oval element.  Here is my creation.

I used the new in colors Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.  This years colors appear muddy to me.  I am still getting use to them.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I have my retirement village ladies today so they will enjoy making the cards.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

House of Cards - color challenge

Second Post - Scroll Down for the First!

I am glad you are checking out my card today.  At House of Cards we have a fun color challenge for you.

Aren't the colors in this photo great.  They say Happy!  I decided to pull out my stencils that I have not used in years.  This was one of my favorite metal ones as I love daisies.  I had fun using my ink pads and sponges to create this little scene.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I added some glitter to the center of the flowers as I love my bling!  We would love to have you play along with us.  Head on over to the House of Cards blog to see what the other design team members created using these colors.  Then grab your colors and play along with us.

Thanks for visiting me again today!  Hope you will have some time to play today.  Have a great afternoon!

Crystal Mosaic

Good Morning Ladies!

What a great weekend it was.  The weather was gorgeous.  It is supposed to be nice all week also.  I love it when the temperature is low to mid 70's and there is no humidity.  I know I will be enjoying it all week.

My card today is for the challenge at Late Night Stampers.  This week we were to use Crystal Effects.
I combined it with the sketch challenge at  Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.

I wanted a different shape than the banner in the middle so I pulled out my Labels Collection framelits.  Here is what I created for both challenges.

close up of how I used the crystal effects

So are you going to play along with us this week?  You have 2 choices of challenges.  The Crystal Effects  on Late Night Stampers or the sketch challenge at Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge

Thanks for visiting me today.  I have a busy day today but will also try to play a little.  Have a Marvelous Monday!
