Card Set Clas Card

Hello Stampers!

I hope you have some fun plans for this long holiday weekend!  I am planning on working on my classes as well as stamping some.  I still have a lot to do for my 3 graduate/undergraduate classes so I need to prepare for them so I can breathe again!

My card today is a card we did in my monthly card set class.  At convention we got the Tags 4 You set and I wanted to do some cards that my ladies could replicate.  I also wanted my cards to be ones that they could change the colors and use the same design for a different holiday.  I achieved that and the ladies loved the cards.

The first card is one that was inspired by a treat holder I saw online.  I am not sure but I think it was from Stampin' Up.  Here is the Halloween one we made.

Hope you were inspired by my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Fall

I am so glad it is Friday!  I have been running full speed this week and need some down time.  I plan on staying in comfy clothes all weekend!

Today is Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Our sketch this week was created by Deb Currier.  Deb is know for clean and simple cards.  Here is the sketch she gave us for this week.

08/30/12 - Deb Currier

When I saw this I knew I wanted to do a clean and simple card also.  I had some new goodies I wanted to use and knew they would be perfect for this sketch.  I also wanted to make a Fall card so I could use my new goodies.  I used the rock-n-roll technique to add brown to the edges of the leaf.  Here is what I created for this challenge.

So what would you do with this sketch?  Make a card and then head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog and share it with us.  We would love to see your interpretation.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - Panda

Good Morning Ladies!

Well today is the first day I start teaching my undergraduate classes.  On Tuesday I started teaching my graduate class so I have a full schedule with teaching classes and working.  It will be a busy few months but I have an ulterior motive for doing this.  I will share it with you later this year.

Thursday is the day I share my punch art I do for Zoie.  This week in honor or the baby Panda born at the Washington Zoo I thought I would do a panda.  I looked on Pinterest and found a cute one that Debbie Henderson did and I thought I would use it.  I did modify mine a little as Zoie just tears it up to see how it is made so I kept mine simple.  Here is what I created.

Hope you enjoyed my card today!  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Real Red

Happy Mid-Week Everyone!

Wednesday is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start of the hop so if you started at another blog you just need to keep going until you get back to where you started.

Our challenge this week was to use

Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla

                   OR

Real Red, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie

I was not certain what I was going to do with this combination (did I tell you I am not thrilled with our new Color Coach).  The colors just seem so blah to me.  I then remembered that Patty Bennett did a tutorial on coloring punched coffee filters with reinker spritzers to make a flower and I decided to go with that idea.  I made my flower and my card then went together fairly easy.  Here is what I created using the first set of colors.

I think I have figured out how to avoid the yellow strip in my pictures.  I plan on playing with my thoughts and see if it works.  Hopefully my pictures will improve.

Now it is time to hop on down the lines to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she did with the challenge.  She recently had surgery on her ankle so make sure you leave her some extra special comments to help her feel better!  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - sketch challenge

Hello Stampers!

We have had gorgeous weather the past few days.  It would be so nice if it could stay like this for quite a while.  I love it when it is high 70's/low 80's and no humidity.  Perfect weather spend some time outside and enjoying the day!

Tuesday this week is our Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  This week we have a sketch challenge.

When I saw this sketch I wanted to do something different for the circle element.  I put my thinking cap on and came up with an idea.  I decided to use it to create my card.  I had to do some creative designing with this one since I was inspired by my butterfly bushes outside my window.  Here is what I created for our challenge.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!  I had fun creating it.  I hope you will head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other design team ladies came up with.  We would love to have you play along using this sketch.  What could you do with it?  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno - Summertime

Happy Monday Everyone!

This week we have a Summertime theme at Late Night Stampers.  Nothing says summer to me than coral and yellow.  These colors remind me of the beach and the beach is a great place to be in the summer.  I decided to use these colors.  The next thing that I think of for Summer is flowers.  I have not used the new stamp set Regarding Dahlias so I thought it would be perfect for our Summertime challenge.

Mary Jo at Technostamper had a great Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge for us.

I thought this would be a great sketch and challenge to combine.  Here is what I created for both challenges.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and it inspired you to spend some time in your craft room.  If you decide to try either the Late Night Stampers challenge or the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge we would love to see your creations.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

The Last Convention Pillow Gifts

Hello Stampers!

When I was going through my pictures I realized I had not share these pillow gifts.

I thought it would be nice to have a 2 year pocket planner and matching business card holder.  I found the pocket planners at Oriental Trading and decorated them to match the business card holder.  I got the folder for them in a bulk buy group I am in.

To match the favorite color each person chose I also made a magnetic note pad for them also.  I got the directions for this from Cathy Partlis.  Here are pictures of the projects.

I hope you enjoyed all my pillow gifts I shared.  I had a lot of fun making them and the ladies enjoyed them so much.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Convention Pajama Party mini album

Good Morning Ladies!

Well I think is the last convention share I have for you.  I saved the best for last.  We had a pajama party on Wednesday night with our chat group.  We each had to make a gift and we did a gift exchange.  Laura organized it and she did a cute way for us to find out who we were to give to.

She took our wood mount boxes you can buy in packs of 3 and decorated them to look like suitcases.  We each picked one and inside was the name of who we were to give our gift to.  I had to give my gift to Laura.

I used the Eastern Elegance ds paper and made a flip book mini album from a tutorial by Amy Celona to make this album.  Here are pictures of the album.  Sorry some of the pictures are not clear.  Since I no longer have the album I cannot retake the photos.

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Christmas creation

Happy Friday Everyone!

Friday is our Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  This week our sketch was created by Angela.

08/23/13 Angela

I thought this sketch would lend itself to a great Christmas card for my upcoming stamp-a-stack.  I went with this idea.  I kept this simple as my stamp-a-stack they have to make 4 cards of this design as well as 2 other designs so that is 12 cards.  In order to not take all day I kept it simple.  Here is what I created.

I did not do the inside as for my stamp-a-stack I have my sentiments out and they can choose the one they want to stamp inside.  I hope you will head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see the other ladies creations.  We would love to have you join us week!  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - a hedgehog

Good Morning Stampers!

Well I am back from a whirlwind trip to California.  We had a great time and so did Zoie.  We were going a hundred miles an hour the whole time but it was so fun.  I will share some pictures when I get a chance to download them from my camera.

Today's share is the punch art I did for Zoie this week.  I saw this idea on Michelle Suit's blog  and decided to CASE it for Zoie.  Here is my version of her card.

Michelle has some great punch art if you are looking for some ideas.  I hope you will try some punch art of your own.  If you do make sure you let me know so I can see it.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Pumpkin Pie

Good Morning Ladies!

Well we got in very early this morning and I know today will be a very tiring day.  That is okay as we had a great time in California!   Will share more when I am caught up.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our choices were

Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Real Red

                          OR

Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight

I was not certain what I was going to do with the first set of colors but the second set screamed Fall so I went with that idea.  Here is what I created.

So which color choice would you choose to use?  If you make a card share it with me.  I would love to see what you do with these colors.  Are you ready to hop on down the lines to see the other creations?  Your next stop is Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate.  I am sure she will have a great project for you to look at.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Convention Pillow Gifts - air freshener and foot soak

Hello Stampers!

I thought I would share 2 of my pillow gifts I made for my friends at Convention.  It is tradition when you go to convention to make a small gift for your roommates.  None of us roomed with anyone but since we are all quite close we decided to make pillow gifts for each other.

The ladies in our group are all very talented.  I was not certain what I was going to make for pillow gifts.  I decided to so some thinking about what kinds of issues we had in the past.  Several of the girls bring their own room air fresheners as they hate the smell of hotel rooms.  I ran across a recipe to make your own gel air freshener using essential oils.  I thought that would be a great gift for the first day!

Another thing I thought about is how tired our feet were after a long day of walking.  I found a recipe for a soothing foot soak and knew it would be perfect for day 2.

Now that I had 2 ideas I had to think of a way to package it.  I did not want to use glass as it is heavy and could break.  I searched the internet and found some great plastic jars with nice lids.  I purchased 2 different sizes - 6 oz. for the air freshener and 8 oz for the foot soak.  Here is how I packaged them up to give to the ladies.

I had asked each lady their favorite color so my gifts for each of them were in their favorite colors.  You will see when I share more pillow gifts how they all coordinated.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

TechnoStamper - sketch challenge

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well in most places this is the week that school starts.  I know everyone is busy getting the kids ready to start a new year.  My girls are grown so I am busy getting myself ready to teach my Fall classes.  I have 3 this year.  I don't normally teach more than one but I have an ulterior motive.  I cannot share it just yet  but when I can I will make sure you know.

My card today is for Mary Jo's Monday Lunch Time Sketch Challenge.  She gave us a fun sketch and decided to take advantage of some items I had borrowed from a fellow demo.  Here is the sketch.

When I saw this I thought of patterned paper so I went with that idea.  Have you seen the Eastern Elegance ds paper in the current catalog?  This paper is gorgeous!  I made a gift for a pajama party we had at Convention and it was beautiful.  I decided to use it for my card.  Here is my creation.

Don't you just love the colors in this paper?  They look so great, especially with the new Smoky Slate.  We would love to have you join us and play along.  After you get your creation completed, head on over to Mary Jo's blog - Techno Stamper and link up.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

The other Fancy Folds swap card

Good Morning Ladies!

I cannot believe our week is almost up.  Time has flown by and in 2 days we will be flying home.  I know the next few days will be jam packed with getting in last minute things we want to do.

My share today is the the other Fancy Folds swap card I did.  We still only had to make 11 so that is not a bad number to do for a more involved swap card.  For my fold today I decided to do the Freestanding Pop up card.  I went looking for the directions and found some great ones on Splitcoast Stampers.  I also went searching for ideas as to how the pop up was decorated so I would have some inspiration.  Well while I was searching I ran across a different pop up design and decided to go with it.  Here is my final Convention 2013 swap.

pop up card opened

I just love this modification on the pop up card, don't you!  So fun to make once I figured out the dimensions for the pop up piece.  I hope this card inspired you to do some creating today.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Convention Fancy Folds Swap

Hello Everyone!

I am still sharing my swaps from Convention.  After this weekend I will be finished with my swaps and will then share my pillow gifts with you.

Today's share was for a Fancy Folds Swap I participated in.  The groups were small - we only had to do 11 cards of this one so I joined up for 2 different groups.  That meant I had to do 2 different Fancy Folds.  For my share today I am featuring my t-slider card.

First I had to find directions for how to make it.  Splitcoast Stampers has a great tutorial as well as Jackie Topa.  Jackie actually had one that would make a regular A2 size card.  I ended up using both tutorials as I wanted to make mine a regular sized card.  Since we were going for the design we were also allowed to use retired ds paper.  This was right up my alley as I had quite a bit of the old design paper stacks left that I decided to use some of.  Here is my creation.

This was a fun card to make.  It is not difficult but it is time consuming.  I hope you enjoyed my share for today.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Happy Friday Ladies!

Well today we had planned on going to Disney.  This will be all be based on the weather.  Since I am scheduling my posts early I do not know if the weather cooperated or not.  If not we will find something else to do.

Today is our Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  Our sketch this week was created by Tammy Fite.

When I saw this sketch I thought it would be great one to use some ds paper on.  I pulled out some of the new paper I had and this is what I created using the sketch above.

I loved how this turned out.  It is so clean and simple.  You could easily replace one of the panels for an image or a sentiment.  I hope you will visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies created using this sketch.  I am sure they will inspire you to take some time today to create.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Punch Art for Zoie - worm

Hello Stampers!

Are you ready for another punch art card?  I wasn't sure what I was going to do so I went searching and found cute idea on Pinterest.  There were not that many ideas to choose from but I found a cute one and went with it.  Here is her card for this week.

Coloring Down the Lines - Pacific Point

Happy Mid Week Everyone!

I have been keeping a secret for over a month.  When I planned my trip to California I also was planning for Jess and Zoie.  We decided to all go together and surprise Michaela.  She knew I was coming but not Jess and Zoie.  What a surprise she got when they showed up.  There was some videos taken but not sure I can upload it to my blog using my iPad.  I will see what I can do but if not, I will share when I get back home.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our color choices were

Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie

                            OR

Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry

You know my issues with Pumpkin Pie so you can guess which color combo I chose.   I was not certain what I was going to do as 2 of these colors are very bold.  I decided to keep it simple.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

I am sorry for the poor quality of the first photo.  I will get this figured out.  I know it is also hard to see but I used the diagonal scoring plate to add diagonal lines on the front panel.

Are you ready to see some of the other projects?  Head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate.  I am sure she will have an awesome project for you to see.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Color Challenge

Hello Everyone!

As you read this I am getting ready to board my plane for California.  Can you tell I am excited about this trip?  It will be fun to spend time with Michaela!

Today at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a color challenge.

When I saw this color combination I immediately thought of fall but figured everyone else would be thinking along those same lines so I decided to try going in a different direction.  I saw a card similar to this somewhere in all my surfing and decided to try this layout on my card for today.  Here is what I created.

It is hard to see but the Early Espresso is embossed with the honeycomb embossing folder.  I hope you were inspired by my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - Paper challenge

Good Morning Ladies!

Well I have one more day before I leave for California!  I have so much to do today and I have to work tonight from 3 - 7:30.  I will get it done but I may not get to bed until late.

Today at Late Night Stampers we have a fun challenge.  I don't know about you but I have a ton of paper.  This challenge is all about using that paper.

Paper challenge
use specialty paper like DSP, shimmer, vellum etc on your project

I was not certain what I was going to do with this challenge but decided to see if I could find a different sketch challenge that would allow me to use a variety of designer series paper.  I found a great one at Clean and Simple

I just knew I would be able to use quite a bit of my ds paper.  Here is what I came up for both of these challenges.

inside of card and envelope

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Late Night Stampers blog to see what the other ladies came up with.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!
