Coloring Down the Lines - Melon Mambo

Good Morning Ladies!

Well we have a full house today for our blog hop.  We have a lot of ladies who are hopping today so you should see some great creations.

This week our color choices were

Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise

                                             OR

Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant

I was checking out my challenge blogs and ran across a sketch that I really was drawn to.  The Clean and Simple blog had a sketch that I really liked.

I was really drawn this this sketch and decided to use it for our challenge.  I decided to use the second set of colors.  Here is what I created using this sketch.

Are you ready to see what the other ladies created using these colors.  Hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate  and see how she used the colors.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - ABC

Hello Stampers!

I hope you had a great day yesterday.  Our weather was fabulous!  I finished the last flower bed last night and now I just need to go back and keep up with the weeds.  I have this viney thing growing in them that I have to keep on top of.  It is hard as when I go to pull it up the root does not always come up so I know it will keep coming back.  If I keep up with it eventually I am hoping I will get it all.

My card today is for the Inspiration Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

When I saw this picture I was drawn to the colors.  I saw the red, green, and yellow as well as a school theme.  I decided to go with those 2 ideas.  I saw a piece of the Epic Day This and That that I thought would make a perfect background.  Here is what I created for our challenge.

inside of card and envelope

This is a clean and simple card.  It would make a great first day of school card with a simple gift for the teacher to start her year off.  I hope you will play along with us over the next 2 weeks.  We would love to see what you create using the inspiration picture.  Head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other design team members created.  Then we hope you you will be inspired to play with us this week.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers and Techno Stamper Fancy Fold

Happy Monday Everyone!

I don't know what happened to my post yesterday.  It did not post when I had scheduled it.  I went in last night and posted it so if you missed it yesterday, scroll down to see my Black and White Convention swap.

Today's card used the Late Night Stampers challenge to use a Fancy Fold.  I got my fancy fold from the sketch challenge at the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.

I decided to create my own fancy fold using the sketch.  I used the vertical horizontal shape to create a folded card.  I had wanted to use the other shapes to make folds also but could not get my brain working to do it.  I am sure you can get it figured out.  Here is the card I created for the 2 challenges.

inside of card and envelope

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Late Night Stampers blog and the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge blog to see what the design team members created.   Then grab your supplies and create a project for our challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Our Black and White Convention Swap

Hello Stampers!

I thought I would share the card I made for the black and white swap I hosted at Convention.  I hosted this with a good friend I met in chat and saw in person for the first time last year at Convention.  Amanda and I were talking and we wanted to do a black and white swap but the only one we found was full already.  We decided to host our own.  We started with 2 groups and was hoping to fill them.  We ended up having 4 groups.  Our requirements were they could only use black and white and rhinestones if they wanted bling.  We got some great swaps that I will be posting to a new page in the next few days so look for them.  Here is the card I made for the swap.

I love how simple this card is.  I may have to do this one in one of my workshops.  I was thinking of changing the colors.  What do you think?  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

3 x 3 Convention swap

Good Morning Stampers!

I thought I would share another card I made for a Convention Swap.  I signed up for a 3 x 3 full card swap.  I have done this swap a few times when I have gone to Convention before.  It is a large swap.  I signed up for one group and had to make 81.  I was inspired by a black and white swap I got from another forum I am a member of.  Here is what I created.

The colors are off.  I used Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Whisper White.  I used Brushed Silver to the large butterfly and the silver glimmer paper for the small one.  Sorry the picture is not more true to color.  I may see if I still have one of mine and retake it.

Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - This and That

Happy Friday Everyone!

Boy did this week fly by!  I am making good progress on my weeding.  I have about 1/3 of 1 bed left.  This bed is on my hill and will probably take me 2 nights to do as it is loaded with lots of weeds.  I wish I knew what some of them were so I would know how to attack them.  Oh well at least I am making progress.

Today is our Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  This week our sketch was created by Patrice.

When I saw this sketch I wanted to use some of my designer series paper.  I would need to use a paper where the pattern was not too overpowering.  I pulled out a piece from the Epic Day This and That series.  I also wanted to use the mailbox from the For The Birds set.  I just needed the final panel and I was done.  Here is what I created using this sketch.

inside of card and envelope

I am not sure I like this combination.  What do you think?  I hope you will head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies created using this sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - Zebra

Hello Stampers!

Well I am slowly getting back in my craft room.  I spent some time in there yesterday to make my card for Zoie.  I wasn't sure what animal I was going to do but wanted to see what I could find for a zebra.

I did a google search and found one on Pinterest.  When I followed the link, it took me to Lola's blog

http://lolascrapetcompagnie.blogspot.fr/2013/06/tuto-punch-art-animaux-de-la-savane.html

and she had a tutorial for a cute zebra that I decided to try.  She did a great job with pictures to show me how to make the zebra.  Here is the card I will send to Zoie this week.

inside of card and envelope

I am certain she will love this one.  I didn't think of it but I should have added a tail that swishes as her uncolor game has a zebra that swishes.  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Daffodil Delight

Good Morning Ladies!

I am hoping to have photos from Convention posted in the next few days.  I may have to add them a few at a time but if you see a new tab at the top then know I have added some of the pictures I have.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  We have a small hop this week as the ladies are still trying to catch up from our time in Salt Lake.  This week we could use

Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler

                                  OR

Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Old Olive

I decided to go with the second set of colors.  I also used the sketch challenge at SUDSOL

I was drawn to this sketch for some reason.  I like the 3 panels and thought it would be great to use the Pleasant Poppies background set for them.  The rest just fell together.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

You can't tell from the picture but the blue strip is embossed with the Stripes Embossing folder.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Now it is time to hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see which colors she used and what she created with them.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Another Convention Swap Share

Good Morning Ladies!

Well I got back from convention today (I landed at Dulles late last night so I spent the night at my daughter's ~ beside I had to see Zoie :)  ).  I spent the day doing laundry and cutting my grass.  Today I need to spend some time weeding as well as making some cards for this week to post.

I thought I would share one of my swaps from Convention.  I participated in 7 organized swaps while I was there.  The first one I had was Make-n-Takes for a year that was held on Thursday morning at 8:00 am.  We had to choose a month and make a card for that month.  I chose January.  I had to choose my month before the new catalog came out.  I was a little concerned as the new catalog did not have any winter sets.  I was so glad that the Snowflake Soiree set carried over.  I used the set to make the creation below.

I did not decorate the inside of the card.  I did not do any of my insides for convention.  For this swap I had to make 41 cards.  I did not have time to do the insides of all my cards.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Day!

Pinwheel Fun

Happy Monday Everyone!

I got in very late last night so I stayed at Jess'.  Today I will head home to see Bijou and give her lots of loving.  I have missed her so much!

Today at Techno Stamper Mary Jo gave us a great sketch.

I recently got the Epic Day This and That ds paper.  I thought it would be fun to play with that for this sketch.  I had no issues choosing the paper as some appealed to me more than others.  I was not certain what I was going to do for the 3 flower elements.  I looked through the catalog and ran across the Sweets for the Sweet set.  I loved the pinwheels and decided I would make my own pinwheels for the card.  I use a square punch and then cut and put them together.  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

Head on over to the Techno Stamper blog to see the other creations then join us and share your creation with us!  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Chat Group Swap

Hello Ladies!

Well I fly back home today!  It is so hard to say goodbye to my friends.  I am so sad as I do not know when I will see these ladies again.  We have had a fabulous time and shared lots of laughs.  I will miss them terribly in the days to come.

Today I am sharing my card I made for our small chat group swap.  There are 7 of us who try to chat in a chat group on a regular basis.  Many of us met for the first time last year at convention and we all agreed to come back this year since it is the 25th Anniversary of Stampin' Up.  We got together on Wednesday evening to have dinner and then had a pajama party to swap our cards, exchange gifts, and do a shoebox swap.  We had lots of fun and were able to reconnect after a year.

This is the card I made to swap with our small group.  I also saw one like this on a blog and remade it using Stampin' Up supplies.  Here is my version of the card.

I think this is a really pretty card and I hope you enjoyed it.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Hotel Hall Swap Share

Good Morning Stampers!

Well today is the last day of convention.  We have a full day of activities again and then we are going out for dinner with a large group of us.  I also have one more swap today.

Today I am sharing one of the swaps I made for the ladies who were part of our hotel group.  Last year I reserved a block of 14 rooms for our group - lots of these ladies were downlines or friends of some of the people I knew.  We decided to do our own swap amongst ourselves.  I saw a card like this on a blog and it used supplies from another company.  I decided to make the card using our supplies.  Here is my Hall Swap card.

I love how this card looks.  If you ever get in a slump you can always find cards in magazines or on blogs and then remake them using Stampin' Up supplies.  Great way to jump start your Mojo!

Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - purple and yellow

Happy Friday Everyone!

We have another busy day planned for us.  I also have another swap today.  It is also going to be a long day for us but we will have fun!

Our sketch this week at Sketch Frenzy Friday was created by Tammy Fite.

07/19/13 - Tammy

I loved the clean and simple look of this so I decided to keep the clean and simple look also.  I also did some layering of the flowers to give it some extra pizzazz!  Here is my creation.

I had some fun coloring the flowers with my markers to make them look like pansies.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies did with this sketch.

Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Koala Bears for Zoie

Hello Everyone!

Well today is the first day of Convention.  I have to be at the Salt Palace at 8:00 am as I have my first swap at that time.  This one is the Make-n-Takes for a Year.  I am excited to see what the other ladies have made.  Over the next few weeks I will share some of the swaps I made.

Today is my punch art card for Zoie.  If you remember she has an uncolor game on the iPad she loves to play.  One of the images you uncolor is a Mama Koala Bear and the baby Koala Bear pops up on top of her head.  Every time she sees the baby she says "Baby".  She is really into babies right now.

I went looking on Pinterest and when I saw a card made with the image of the Mama Koala and the baby on her head I knew I had to make a card like it for her this week.  Here is my card.

I think this punch art is so cute!   What do you think?

Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

25 New Friends

Second post,  scroll down for my card!

Hey ladies,

I am having a great time at convention. I wanted to tell you about a fun activity I am doing. This is not my idea but another demo I know from a forum is doing this and I thought it was a great idea so I decided to do it also

I have a goal to meet 25 new friends. I have made little gift that when I meet them I will give them the gift. Last night on my shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel I met 3 lovely ladies from Canada -  Mary Jo, Valerie, and Mary Jo (yes there were 2 Mary Jo's).

I will keep you informed of my progress and will try and post a picture of my gift towards the end of convention!

Have a great afternoon!

Robbie

Birdie Dots and Chevrons

Happy Day to you my Friends!

Well the rest of the ladies arrive today!  I am so excited!  You will probably hear squeals from Salt Lake!  I am hoping to post pictures to share with you some of my adventures.  I will try and do it on a daily basis but a lot will depend on how well I can work the iPad for posting.  :)

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week we have a small hop as many of the ladies did not get a chance to make a card with all the preparations they had for convention.  That's okay as I am sure you will enjoy the cards that are shared today.

This week we had to use

Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry

                                              OR
Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango, Smoky Slate

I have to tell you Crushed Curry was not speaking to me so I went with the second set of colors.

Since I was in a time crunch I decided to look for a sketch I could use.  I have a page of sketches I ran across somewhere (could be from Splitcoast Stampers or Clean and Simple) and I found one that I liked.

There was something about this sketch so I used it to create my card for today.  Here is what I created.

I recently got the For the Birds set and thought this one would be perfect for this card.  Are you ready to see some more great cards?  Your next stop is Carol at Carol's Cards to see what she did with this color challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Ribbon Flowers for My Friend

Good Morning!

Well I am on my way to Salt Lake!  I fly from Washington to Los Angeles and have a 5 hour layover and then on to Salt Lake.  I get into Salt Lake about 7:30 their time.  I am so excited as I get to see my friends I have not seen since last year at Convention.  I also am hoping to meet 25 new friends so if you are reading this make sure you look for me as I have something special for any new friends I make!

Today at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a sketch challenge.

I have to admit when I saw this I wanted to do something other than hexagons for the images.  I looked through the catalog and was not inspired so I had a brainstorm to make ribbon flowers.  Needless to say it took quite a bit of time and as I sit here and write this I realized I forgot to add rhinestones or pearls in the center.  lol I guess I had a lot more going on than I realized.  Here is my creation.

I hope you will stop by the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other ladies created.  Then grab your supplies and play with us this week.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Lacy Techno

Hi Ladies!

Did you wonder what happened to me?  Well thanks for ignorant workers at Verizon I did not have internet from Saturday night until midday today.  I had to leave for Jess' so I am posting from there.  Since I have to do all my posts in the next hour or so they will be short and sweet this week!

Today at Late Night Stampers our challenge is to use

                              Lace
I also used the sketch challenge at Technostamper.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Sorry it is late but at least I made it before the end of the day!

Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Sudsol sketch - 6 - 24 post on Sunday

Good Morning Ladies!

The count down is on.  I will spend today cleaning as I have friend coming to stay with Bijou.  Then I will start pulling what I need to pack.  I will do my final packing tomorrow.

My card today was created for the SUDSOL sketch challenge.

I needed another card for my workshop so I decided to use this sketch.  Here is the card my ladies loved making at my workshop.

Again I do not have the inside or a card done.  I think I am falling down on the job.  I think I will get back to normal after convention.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Dyed Ribbon Florets

Good Morning Ladies!

Well Tuesday is fast approaching and I am winding down the last few things I need to get done before I leave.  I have a few more cards to finish for my blog and that is it.

My card today is one I used in my workshop earlier this month.  We had a challenge on SUDSOL where you had to use dyed ribbon on your card.  It is really easy to do.  You add some alcohol in a spritzer bottle and drop in some reinker.  Put the top on the spritzer and shake.  You then spray your ribbon and let it dry.

I did not have ribbon to match my project so I used Calypso Coral to make ribbon to match it.  Here is the card the ladies made in my workshop.

For some reason I did not decorate the inside or an envelope.  Need to do that before I send it out.  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Vellum Betsy's Blossom

Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend!  I will be packing the long list of items as I prepare to leave for Convention.

Friday is our Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.  Each week one of the design team members creates a sketch that we use for our cards.  This week our sketch was created by Kim Innis

07/12/13 - Kim Innis

When I saw this I wanted thought about stamping an image all over the card base and then covering one side with vellum.  I decided to go with that idea.  Here is what I created using this sketch.

inside of card and envelope

I have to say this is not one of my favorite cards.  I think what is not working for me is the color combination.  What do you think?

Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - bird

Good Morning Stampers!

Before I share my card with you today I have a picture to share with you.  I got a text the other day from Jess with the caption "This is why we paint naked!"  Attached to it was this picture.

When I got this I was using my mouthwash.  Needless to say I almost lost my mouthwash.  This girl is a pistol.  She is always up to something.

Ok, on to my card.  My card today was also inspired by cards I saw at Pinterest.  I wonder what she will say when she gets this one!  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I am sure Zoie will love it and then proceed to rip it up.  lol

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Pistachio Pudding

Hello Ladies!

Well you would not believe the issues I had with my card today.  I have always struggled with adding sentiments to my cards.  Often I want an uplifting fun sentiment and I do not have one.  I thought okay I will use some of the sentiments in my MDS.  I went in and found the sentiment I wanted to use.  I set it up and wanted to print it in a color I was to use for my color.  Well I went in and looked for Baked Brown Sugar and discovered I did not have any of the new in colors.  I tried several things and could not get them to load.  I turned to the experts in one of my forums and they told me what to do.  When I did their suggestion, it went back to what I had.  So I had to call demonstrator support.  I talked to a helpful lady named Nicole.  She explained to me to do what I had already tried which I explained did not work.  She put me on hold and checked with someone else in the office.  When she came back she explained that the lady in the office had the same issue with her program as well as other people.  She further explained that the tech team was gone for the day.  She had to create an incidence report and someone will contact me.  So needless to say I did not get the new colors.  I ended up choosing a color I thought might be close to the color I wanted.  In the end it almost matches perfectly - probably because I am close to needing to replace some of my ink.  I was now ready to finish my project.

This week we could choose

Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe

                                              OR

Pistachio Pudding, Smokey Slate, Strawberry Slush

For some reason the bottom combo did not appeal to me so I went with the first color combo.  I wanted to use a challenge on SUDSOL that was to CASE a card from the current Stampin' Connection which is a magazine demos get every 2 months.  Here is the sample.

This was a fun card and easy to make.  I used the new clay and molds to make my button then added Crystal Effects to make it a little shiny.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Now it is time to hop on over to Carol's blog - Carol's Cards to see which colors she chose and her card.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!
