Secret Garden Chevron

Good Morning!

Well I am headed home today.  I am hoping the weather will be nice as I do not like driving in the rain.

My card today used a Case Challenge from SUDSOL.  We were to use the picture from page 88 of the current catalog.

I did not need a box but thought the design would make a great card so I  used it to make a card.  This would be a great card to mass produce as it is quick and easy.  Here is my interpretation of the box.

Sorry about the yellow cast.  I am still learning what categories to adjust to get the quality I need.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Hello Stampers!

What are your plans for this hot weekend?  I hope it includes some time in your craft/stamp room.  I will be spending time with Zoie and playing.

I wanted to share with you a sketch challenge I did in one of my demo forums.  Here is the sketch.

Here is what I created for this challenge.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I used more of my retired ds paper for my envelope.  I am loving this way to use some of that paper up.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Betsy's Blossom

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today is Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge.  Our sketch this week was created by Deb Currier.

I thought this was a fun sketch.  I thought it would be a great one to use some of our washi tape on.  I also wanted to do some circular piercing for the circular element.  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

I have also started using some of my retired ds paper to line my envelopes.  Here is the one I did for this card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what th other ladies created using this sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art - bug

Hello Ladies!

Well Thursday is my day to share with you the punch art card that I created for Zoie this week.  I again went back to Pinterest to find a cute little bug.  I am headed to her house today so I will be able to see her reaction when she gets her card this week.

If you ever need ideas, check out Pinterest as they have some great ideas.  Here is the idea I used this week.

Coloring Down the Lines - Coastal Cabana

Happy Mid-Week!

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I am the start.  Are you ready to see some great creations?  This week we could choose to use

coastal cabana, calypso coral, smoky slate
or
coastal cabana, pumpkin pie, & crushed curry

I went with the second combination as I wanted to challenge myself since I hardly every use pumpkin pie but in the fall and crushed curry is not my favorite.

I decided to use the sketch challenge at The Paper Players as I liked the look of the sketch.

Since I am not fond of Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie I made Coastal Cabana my main color.  I like this new In Color.  Here is my creation.

Are you ready to check out the creations of the other ladies?  Head on over to Carol's blog - Carol's Cards as she is the next stop on the hop to see what she did with these colors.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Chalkboard Technique

Good Morning Stampers!

I am not sure why my post for yesterday did not publish.  I went in late last night and published it.

I am struggling getting the right sentiment on one of my Convention swaps.  I have a Winter theme card and there is little I can find to put on my card.  I have one I am thinking of using as it will be okay.

My card today uses the Chalkboard technique as  explained on the Technique Tuesday website.  I have to tell you after 33 years in education the chalkboard technique was not high on my list.  I decided I wanted to play along so I went looking to see how I could put my own spin on the technique.

Mynnette has a great video explaining how to do the technique on the blog.  I wanted it and then grabbed my supplies to make my card.  Here is my final creation.

I hope you enjoyed my version of the Chalkboard Technique.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Summer Mosaic

Good Morning Stampers!

I hope you had a great weekend.  I had a a very productive weekend.  I am headed to Jess' later this week so I had to get things set up for this week.

I have to apologize.  I was supposed to use the sketch at Mary Jo's Technostamper.  I went in yesterday and looked at the posts.  Well I think I am having issues reading numbers (the same is true in my knitting as I have pulled out the wrong size needles more than once).  I looked at an upcoming sketch and created my card based on that sketch.  Needless to say I do not have a card for her sketch challenge.  It is a great sketch this week so head on over there to check out the sketch and see what the design team created using the right sketch.
I decided to pull out my Gingham Garden paper and see what papers I could use.  I paired it with Mosaic Madness stamp set for something different.  Here is what I created for this challenge.

Amazing CASE

Hello Everyone!

Well the heat and humidity are moving in.  I know I should not complain as here it is the middle of June and we have had  beautiful weather up until now.  I can take the heat, it is the humidity that wears you out.  I plan on spending lots of time in my craft room.

Today I played with a CASE challenge at SUDSOL.  This is an online group for SU demonstrators.  We have several challenges each week and one of them is to CASE a picture from the current catalog.  This  challenge was found on page of the big catty.

In my usual style I wanted to find something out of the ordinary for the 3 flags.  I think I found it!  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

As you can see I made another of my own envelopes from ds paper.  I am loving doing this to get rid of all my retired paper.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Sketch Challenge for workshop card

Good Morning Stampers!

Well I had a productive day yesterday.  I finished up my 3 x 3 swap cards as well as made a few challenge cards. Now I just need to work on my cards to post this week.

A few weeks ago I ran across a sketch challenge at SUDSOL.

I liked this sketch so I decided to use it for one of my workshop cards.  I still had the Oh Hello set I borrowed from my friend and I knew this set would be perfect for this sketch.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card.  My ladies loved making it.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - gingham and polka dots

Hello Ladies!

I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend!  I will be busy working on my convention swaps.

Over at Sketch Frenzy Friday we have a great sketch created by Tammy Fite

I wanted to tackle this one with a different approach also - I really like doing things out of the ordinary.  I got the new gingham wheel and I love to take my wheels apart and use like stamps.  I do need to work with the wheel as I did not get a good stamped image.  I paired the wheel with the poppies background stamp.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies on the design team created.  I am sure you will enjoy their cards.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch Art

Hello Ladies!

Before I share my card today I have a story for you.  The other day Jess called me to tell me about the cards I send Zoie.

Jess, Chris, and Zoie spent last week at the beach.  I had sent Zoie a card the week before she left that did not get there before they left as well as one for last week.  When they got back from the beach Chris went to get the mail.  When he came into the house he handed Zoie her mail.  She looked at the envelopes and "Gigi cards" - she calls me Gigi.  She then takes the cards and immediately rips the animal off the card to play with.  Jess says she plays with them until they are falling apart.  I had to laugh as now I know she recognizes my cards from the fact that I decorate the envelopes.  She is too cute!

My card today plays on her love of imitating animals.  She is always making noises or jumping like the animal.  She will crouch down and say "ribbit" and jump like a frog.  I decided to make that animal this week.  As always I got my inspiration from Pinterest.  Again I have some weird coloring.  Sorry.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my creation today.  I am sure Zoie will love it. Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Good Morning Stampers!

Are you ready for our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop this week?  I am sure you will love the creations my friends have for you this week.

This week we could choose

Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding
or

Crisp Cantaloupe, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede

I decided to use a sketch challenge from Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge as I had not played along with them in a while.

I have to apologize for my picture.  I need to play with my settings as I am getting some weird coloring.  I decided to use the first set of colors for my card.  Here is my creation.

Gingham Garden meets Everything Eleanor

Hello Ladies!

I have a very busy week.  Lots going on.  Good thing I made my cards for this week this past weekend.

Today at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a sketch challenge.

Lately I have been in a mood where I look at sketches and think how can I do something out of the ordinary on this card?  The same is true with this sketch.  I wanted to do something different for the 3 flags at the side.  I ended up using a stamp set.  Can you figure out which one I used?    Here is my creation.

This was a fun sketch.  We hope you will play along with us.  Head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog  to see what the other design team members created.  Then join us this week!  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Party time with Late Night Stampers

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well it is the beginning of another work week.  I know all my teacher friends are happy as they have finished up the school year and can now spend time playing.

The challenge this week at Late Night Stampers is all about partying.

Party Time! - Idea is to create something for a party so could be an invitation,
thank you card, banner, cake toppers, scrapbook layout of a party!

I was at a loss for what to do for this on until I remember having pictures of Zoie's first birthday party.  I decided to use My Digital Studio to make a page of her birthday.

Since I also need to use the sketch at Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

I decided to use it as my layout for my page.  I am fairly new to scrapbooking and very, very, new to using My Digital Studio.  Keep this in mind when you look at my page.  Here is my creation.

My goal is to make this a double page spread with some journaling on it.  I hope you enjoyed my page today.  It is something a little different from my usual cards.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Inlaid embossing

Hello Everyone!

There was a challenge on SUDSOL to do some inlaid embossing.  I have not done that for a while so I decided to play along.  When I had my card created, you then had to use an embossing folder to emboss the images into the paper.  I decided to use the Fancy Fan folder for something different.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I love the color combination.  Very cheery for the summer.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Serene Silhouettes

Happy Friday Stampers!

Well we avoided the severe weather last night.  We did have rain and wind and there were rumors of a few tornadoes but nothing verified.  Today is supposed to be cooler so I am hoping to be able to do some dreaded weeding.

Today is our Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  This week our sketch was created by Sharon Wheet

06/14/13 - Sharon W.

I wanted to try some different colors and I saw a color combo on a forum- Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Early Espresso.  I decided to use them for this challenge.  I like this color combination. Here is what I created.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other ladies created using this sketch.   Will you be playing along with us this week?  We would love to see what you came up with using this sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Zoie's Punch art - ladybug

Hello Stampers!

My card today is the latest in my punch art for Zoie.  Zoie is afraid of ladybugs.  I think her dad has caused this so I decided to make her a cute ladybug.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  I liked it so I used some the her ideas and added some of my own.  Here is my card.

inside of card and envelope

I used one of my ds paper envelopes.  I will let you know how it goes when I try to mail it.  We are supposed to get some nasty weather today.  Those of you who had it earlier today, I hope you are safe.

Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Strawberry Slush

Good Morning Ladies!

Well we are halfway through the week.  I hope yours is going well.

Today is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  Each week we choose a color and using the Color Coach and the suggestions they offer we create a card and then have a blog hop so you can see our creations.  This week our colors were

Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry & Sahara Sand

OR

Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana & Crisp Cantaloupe

I am still on my trial membership with my demo only group.  I am enjoying in a lot and I am hoping to continue with it.  Each week they have a number of challenges and I have been playing along with it.  One of the challenges they have is a CASE challenge.  They choose a card in the current catalog and we can CASE it.  We can make it the same as the one in the book or we can change it up.  This week the chose the card on Page 114.

I liked the idea of using the layers to make a card.  I did change mine up a bit.  Here is what I created.

Fab Friday Workshop Card

Good Morning Stampers!

I had to have a card for my workshop last week and I thought that I would find a sketch to play with.  I ran across a fun one at Fab Friday.

I knew this sketch would be perfect to use some of our new clay and molds.  I wanted my ladies to see for themselves how fun these are.  I also thought it would be fun for them to try the new Pop n cuts card base so I used it for the base of their card.  Here is what I came up with for them to make.

inside of card and envelope

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Tomorrow is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  I hope you will come back to see what I made using our colors.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!
