Peeps for Jess

Happy Easter!

My oldest has always loved Peeps!  She asked me the other day if I had bought her any as I always buy them for her at Easter.

When I saw Michelle's tutorial for a Peeps card I knew I had to make one for her for Easter.  She has been trying to loose weight so I figured I could still give her Peeps and she would not feel bad about them.  Here is my version of Michelle's card.

I am sure she will get a kick out of this card.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Easter Sunday!

Bunny in a Hole

I saw this cute card on another blog and just had to try my hand at making it.  It is made with punches and easy to do.  After I had it made I needed a sentiment to go inside so I went looking online and found this cute idea based on an old song.  I should have printed the sentiment lower on the paper so it did not show through the hole.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Friend

Happy Friday Ladies!

Over at Sketch Frenzy Friday we have a new sketch.  Our sketch this week was created by Patrice Herrera.

I have to admit I was a little stumped when I saw this sketch.  I thought of using flowers for the elements at the side but I wasn't certain what to do so they did not look like they were hanging in the air.  I then remembered I had gotten the Heart a Flutter framelits and had not used them.  I decided to pull them out and found a shape I could use.

With the partial circle on the side I thought about the Paper Doily sizzlet.  After I cut it out and had it applied to the card it was missing something.  I them decided to add something in the center.  Here is my creation for our sketch.

Another April Workshop card

Good Morning!

I thought I would share another card we are going to do at my April Workshop.  I again CASED someone and can't remember who.  I thought I had saved the card but apparently it did not save.  Here is the card the ladies will make in April.

Coloring Down the Lines - Baja and Not Quite

Good Morning Ladies!

Wednesday is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  We always have fun with the colors and we hope you enjoy our creations

This week we were to use

Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy

These colors are fun!  I was excited to work with them.  I decided to use the sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge Blog

When I saw this sketch I loved the large star with the rectangle.  I immediately thought of the lattice die and decided to also use the 2 tags die.  Here is my creation based on the sketch.

Are you ready to see what the other ladies created for our challenge.  Hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she did with these colors.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - sketch challenge

Hello Stampers!

So did any of you get snow the other day?  I cannot believe we are in the middle of March and still getting snow.  I hope we will move into more Spring - like weather soon.

Tuesday is Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge day.  This week we have a sketch challenge for you.

This was a fun sketch and I wanted to use the Cloudy Day embossing folder.  At convention last year I got 2 sets they had in the Memento Mall.  These sets can be used as Thank You's for hostesses or customers.  One of the sets was called Spring Occasions and had an umbrella and pair of boots in it.  I knew they would be perfect for the Cloud Day folder.  I just needed to choose my colors.  I love red and yellow together for a cheery feeling.  I thought those colors would be perfect for my card.  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

I hope you consider playing along with us.  Head on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to check what the other design team members did with this sketch.  Then grab your supplies and play along with us.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno card box

Good Morning Stampers!

So what did you wake up to this morning?  It started snowing last night but the ground was too warm for it to amount to anything.  Our schools are off this week also for Spring Break so did not have to worry about delays or closings.  Hope it is sunny in your area!

My project today is for the challenge at Late Night Stampers which is to create a 3D item or treat holder.

I thought it would be fun to use the sketch at Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge to decorate the front of the box.

This box is great for adding some handmade cards as a gift for someone special.  Here is what my box looks like.

Do you see the strip of designer paper down the side?  That paper is hard to use but if you take a section of the image and use it, it is so much easier to deal with.

I hope you will join us and play along with us this week.  We would love to see what you do with our challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Another April Workshop card

Good Morning Ladies!

So what is on your plans for today?  I hope it is something fun.  I bought some perennials on Friday when I met my friend.  I am hoping to get them in the ground today.  Then I am headed into my craft room to work on cards for this week as well as swaps for the Baltimore Regionals.

My card today is another card my ladies will make at my workshop in April.  I ran across this idea on Gail's blog and decided I would CASE the idea for my workshop.  If you want to see the original you can find it at Stamping with Gail.

Here is my version of the card.

This is a fun technique.  I did learn that you cannot put the stencil back on and respray it.  If you look carefully at the bottom you will see where the alcohol bleed past the stencil.  When you have the stencil down you need to spray it until you have the color you want.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

CASED but can't remember

Good Morning Ladies!

Well the "S" word is in our forecast again for tomorrow night.  I think this is the winter that will never end.

My card today is one I CASED but cannot remember who did the original.  I loved the card and decided to do a similar one for my workshop next month.  I did use the same swirl but I changed the colors and used a different stamp.  I think this is a very pretty card and I hope you like it also.  Here is my creation.

I did the inside and envelope but my picture did not turn out.  I will retake it and post it later today.

I hope my card will inspire you to find a card you like and CASE it.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Happy Friday Ladies!

Wow is it cold!  I know it has been cold before but I am a firm believer that you body adjusts to the temperature and since we have had cool weather my body temperature had adjusted to that.  Now it is cold - near or below freezing - and I cannot get warm.  I am ready to stay in my bed under the covers!  I will have to tough it out though as I need to get cards made to post next week.  I am certain crafting will help!  :)

Friday is our Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  This week our sketch was created by Maria Vanderform.

I had borrowed the Tea Shoppe set from a friend and decided to play with it for this sketch.  I also pulled out some of my designer series paper to created this sketch.  Here is my interpretation of it.

Something very different

Good Morning Stampers!

Well I am not sure how you are going to react to my card today.  I saw a fun technique I wanted to try and began with that.  Once I had the technique finished I had to put my card together.  That was harder than I thought.

I started with the brick wall technique at Technique Time Tuesday.  I used a stamp from Serene Silhouettes.  I stamped it using Always Artichoke on River Rock.  The directions for the technique on the blog said to stamp it again using Versamark and use clear embossing powder.  I added some Always Artichoke also and I think it would have looked better if I had just used the Versamark.

Once I had my brick wall completed I needed a sketch so I went looking and found one at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Here is what I created using these 2 challenges.

So what do you think?  It is definitely different from my usual style.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - greens again

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Well we finally saw some sun yesterday.  It was nice seeing it.  It even got up to 60 degrees.  Spring is right around the corner.

Wednesday is our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors  were

Garden Green and Wild Wasabi

I was not sure what I was going to do with these colors.  All I could think about was leaves.  So I went with that idea.

I went looking for a sketch to use as I really wanted to highlight the leaves.  I found a simple one at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge

Here is my interpretation of both challenges.

Yellow and Black Mixed Bunch

Good Morning Stampers!

I hope you all survived the burst of winter weather yesterday.  We ended up with about 1 inch before it turned to rain and melted away.  It will be chilly the rest of the week and that "S" word could be in the forecast for next weekend.  I am convinced we will go from winter straight into Summer with no Spring.  Bummer!

My card today began with the color challenge at Dynamic Duos

I thought these would be great colors to play with.  I also found the perfect sketch for these colors.  The sketch at Crazy 4 Challenges

Yellow and black remind me of daisies so I went looking for a stamp set I could use.  I found the perfect image in Mixed Bunch.  Here is the card I created for these challenges.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I had fun making it.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Techno Blossom

Happy Monday Ladies!

So did  everyone have a good weekend?  I enjoyed myself.  I spent the weekend in my craft room creating.  I made my cards for my workshop next month, worked on my swaps for Regionals and my monthly swap as well as cards to post this week.  I had so much fun.  The only thing I did not get to was my Easter door decoration.  I am hoping to work on that some this evening.

Today is the challenge at Late Night Stampers.  This week our challenge deals with the fact that Sale-a-bration is ending soon.  We were to use our favorite SAB set/item(s).

Mary Jo at Techno Stamper has a great sketch for us this week with her Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge also.

My favorite item from Sale-a-bration is the Vine Street embossing folder.  I love this folder and will be sad to see it go.  I can only cross my fingers and hope they decide to carry it over.  Here is what I created using the folder and Mary Jo's sketch.

Retirement Village cards

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you are not in the path of the latest storm and expecting snow later today.  This weather is supposed to be Spring-like not cold.  I am going to cross my fingers and hope we get rain.

Each month I go to one of the retirement villages and help the ladies there make cards.  I have been doing it about 2 years now.  Things have changed since I first started.  The ladies now cannot punch anything as they do not have the strength.  Their eyesight is not as good either.  Needless to say I am challenged each month to design 3 cards they can make with relatively little issues.  I am currently working on collage stamping and one layer cards.

The ladies only pay $1 for the 3 cards so I usually use retired colors and sometimes retired stamps.  Here are the cards the ladies will make on Tuesday.

I am sure the ladies will like them.  They are just glad to make them.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

By the Tide again

Hello Ladies!

I am so excited.  I have no commitments the next 2 days.  I need to spend lots of quality time in my craft room creating swaps.  I am excited to be able to play.

My card today was one I created while I was working on my masculine card for the LNS challenge. I had created several backgrounds and decided I would use another one for this card.

I kept the layout fairly simple to show off the background.  Here is my creation.

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Twitterpated Butterflies

Happy Friday Stampers!

Well I had another busy week but today is my play day!  Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday's are always fun for me.  We have such an eclectic style of stampers in our group at Sketch Frenzy Friday that we never know what kind of sketch we will have to work with.  This week our sketch was created by Jennifer Weide.

03/15/13 Jennifer

When I saw this I did not want to use a flower for the punched piece so I went looking for another shape.  I had just gotten the Labels framelits so there was my punched piece.  To add some interest I also cut out a lattice and added it to the cut out space.  I then went to my favorite living thing - a butterfly - and added it over the cut out section.  I did add some embossing which I highlighted with a sponge dauber and some ink.  Then it just needed a sentiment and a ribbon.  Here is what I created.

Rainbow's End for a Friend

Good Morning Ladies!

I am so excited for tomorrow.  I am hosting a demo play date for some of us that are going to the Baltimore Regionals.  We are going to work on some of the swaps we will be taking.  We will have lots of fun.

I needed some more St. Patrick's Day cards to send out this week so I decided to see what I could find.  I found a perfect sketch for Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge blog

I do not have any St. Patrick's Day sets and the ones my sister has are retired.  I have always liked the Rainbow's End set and the image and sentiment were perfect for my friends.  It also has a cute little sentiment that says Pinch Proof and the cutest leprechaun.  This is such a fun set.  I decided to use it for my extra cards I needed.  Here is what I created.

I did not do an envelope as I have some clear ones I want to use up.  Hope you enjoyed my card today even if the set I used was retired.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines blog hop

Hello Ladies!

The other day I told you about my flowers that were blooming and I promised you some pics.  If you do not want to see the pics, scroll down for my card.

The first set of pictures are my crocus.  The first one huge.  I have never had crocus this large before.  I have a few this size.

This one is the deepest purple of all of them.

This is one of my yellow ones.  The yellow bloomed earlier so they are on the way out.

Here is one of my hyacinths.  As you can see from the picture I have several more that will bloom.

I hope you enjoyed my flowers.  Now on to my card.  Wednesday there are several of us that do a blog hop.  We use the color coach and create a card using the specified colors.  Then we do a mini blog hop.  This week our colors were

More Mustard and So Saffron

I wasn't sure how to approach these colors so I began with the sketch challenge at Utah Divas International

It was easier to have the card come together with the sketch.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Now it is time to hop on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she did with the challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!
