Shaving Cream continued

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope you enjoyed my video yesterday.  There was a technical glitch due to the setting but I have changed it so everyone can see it now.

In the video I explained that often you get a piece of cardstock or vellum that the ink did not cover well.  I explained that I would show you today how to use those pieces.

If you get a piece of cardstock or vellum with only a little ink on them, use them to make your sentiment element or to decorate the inside.  On my card I used the piece of vellum that had a lot of green but not much blue.  I stamped the sentiment  and punched it out.  Then I used sticky tape to attach the vellum to the punched sentiment and repunched it.  I used a piece that had a big blob of Rose Red on it.  I used the framelits die and cut out just section of the vellum and used it to frame my stamped image.  Here is the card for you to see what I talked about.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and learned how you can use some of your pieces that may not have turned out the way you would have liked.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Shaving Cream video - finally

 Good Morning Ladies!

Well I have the video completed and I hope I can upload it correctly.  I have to apologize that in the last frames I did not have my card centered so it was cut off some.  I have included a photo of the card after the video.  Need to work on that.  Hope you enjoy the video.

Here is the card I made using the background I created.

inside of card and envelope - I used the piece of vellum inside to decorate the card.

Hope you enjoyed my video.  Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to see.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Happy Friday Everyone!

I am hoping to do the shaving cream video today to post this weekend.  I went to do it last week and did not have any shaving cream.  Little hard to do if you don't have the main ingredient.  I did pick up some the other day so I am set to go.

We have made some changes over at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  I hope you will go over and check it out.

Our sketch this week was created by Maria Vanderform.

I went for a clean and simple card.  I used some of my Comfort Cafe ds paper.  I love this pattern in the pack and when I saw it I thought of Fall right away.  Here is what I created.

One of the new changes is that we won't be doing a blog hop but all our cards will be on the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog.  I hope you will go over and check it out.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Morning Chat Challenge - make your own dsp

Hello Everyone!

Can you believe we are halfway through the week?  Where does the time go?  We did not get the rain yesterday so we will see if it comes today.

My card today is for the Morning Chat Challenge at Butternut Sage Designs.  Donna has challenged us to create our own designer series paper so you have a 1 layer card base.  I have made a card similar to this but used fall colors and leaves.   I decided I wanted to see what it would look like with summer colors and flowers.  When I had the background created I decided to add some beads using some sticky strip.  I tried adding some cut out flowers and the vine but it did not work.  I then decided to just add a sentiment.  Here is what I created.

So what do you think of this card?  I loved the leaves one but I am still undecided about this one.  Why don't you see what you can do and join us in our challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Pretty in Pink

Happy Wednesday!

Well it is supposed to rain most of today.  We need the rain so I am not complaining.  Just means more time to devote to crafting.

Wednesday is our day for our color coach blog hop.  This week we were to use

Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue

OR

Pretty in Pink, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight

I decided to use the second set of colors.  I combined it with the sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge .

I knew I wanted to use the Summer Solstice flower so this sketch was perfect for it.  I did some embossing also.  I used the Fancy Fan embossing folder on the colored strip and the Simply Scored tool to add some diagonal stripes on the black cardstock.  The centers of the flower were made by using sticky strip and cutting out a circle.  I then poured on black glitter.  Here is my creation.

So are you ready to see what the other ladies created?  Head on over to Amanda's blog - Our Crafty Playdate to see what she did with these colors.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments -

Hello Stampers!

Can you believe we are almost to October?  September flew by!  I have not been able to get into the Halloween mood.  How about you?  Have you made any Halloween cards?

We have a great challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments .  It was an inspiration challenge.

When I looked at the picture I immediately saw Pool Party and Basic Gray.  Those are the colors I went with.  I went looking for a stamp set to use and was drawn to the Affection Collection stamp set.  I did quite a bit of second generation stamping on this as the gray was a little overpowering.  Here is what I created.

If our picture inspires you why don't you join us this week?  We love seeing your interpretation of our challenges.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday.

Late Night Stampers - torn paper

Good Morning Ladies!

I am headed home today.  It has been so much fun with Zoie.  She is changing so much and has developed a devilish personality that makes me laugh all the time at her antics.  Such a delightful time it has been these past few days!

My card today is for the Late Night Stampers challenge to tear paper in some form.  Being a Stampin' Up Demo I get orders in all the time.  When they package the orders they use brown paper as a filler - I have heard rumors that this will be changing.  Other demos have dome some amazing things with this paper so I decided I wanted to try it also.

I took a piece of the paper and stamped all over it.  Next I took the rectangle and tore away the edges.  I crumpled up the paper and then flattened it out.  I used this piece as the stamped image on my card.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I used a piece I tore of the stamped rectangle for the inside of the card.  This was fun playing with.  Have you ever used the brown paper on your cards?  Let me know how you have used it.

Thanks for looking and have Marvelous Monday!

Hello Ladies!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!  This is the first time in a long time that it has not rained on our county fair weekend.  We always get rain on fair weekend making it a muddy mess but this weekend it has been glorious weather.

My card today uses the technique I played with on several other cards.  I created the background with ink and water.  I then stamped my leaves and finally sponged the different inks around the edges.  I added a strip of sticky tape and sprinkled on glitter.  I finished it off with a circle and cut out leaves to mount on top.  Here is my creation.

I hope you are not getting tired of seeing my cards using French Foliage.  I recently got the set and I have loved playing with it.  I did order the Wonderfall set from the mini so you will be seeing some of that soon.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

A Surprise from the mini

Good Morning Stampers!

So what are your plans for today?  I am up visiting Zoie so we will be doing some chatting and playing and then tonight we will have dinner together as her mom and dad will go out for a birthday celebration.  Fun times for me!!!!!!!!!!!

My card today uses something from the mini but you may wonder where it came from.  I will tell you at the end of the post.  This is such a cute and simple card.  I will be using it in one of my workshops.  I love the color combo too.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

So did you figure out what I used from the mini on my card?  It is the background piece behind the stamped image layer.  Did you guess what I used?  I used the Snow Festival Designer Printed tags.  These tags are great as the front can be used as a Christmas tag and if you have any left over after Christmas you can flip it and use the back as a layer on a card.  Great idea huh!  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Medallions

Happy Friday Everyone!

Well another week down and we are getting closer and closer to cooler weather.  I love the cooler weather for the comfort foods we all make and eat.  I also love the colder weather when it snows.  If it doesn't snow it should not be cold!  lol

Our sketch this week at Sketch Frenzy Friday was created by Kim Innis

This was an interesting sketch and played with some of the Cherry Cobbler tulle.  Here is my interpretation.

inside of card and envelope

I actually saw a similar tulle ribbon treatment on another blog but cannot remember who's it was.  This is a great fun card to send to someone who needs a cheering up.  Now it is time to hop on over to Sharon's blog - Designs by Sharon to see what she did with the sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Twitterpated Silhouettes

Hello Ladies!

Do you have some plans for creating today?  Taking time each day to create is a great way to devote to yourself.  Take a few minutes and work on something for yourself today!

My card today began with the color challenge at Fab Friday

I saw this sketch on Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge blog

and I wasn't sure how to approach it.  The color challenge helped me out.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

I used the pattern on the designer series paper to create the hexagon elements.  I just cut between the outlines.  I also discovered that if you use the Basic Gray marker to outline an image that the color comes out green.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Rose Red

It's Wednesday which means the week is half over.  Hope your first part has been great and the end will be just a nice!

We have a small blog hop this week.  Several of our ladies have been on vacation and one has been fighting a virus.  But if you are like me a small hop is as good as a big one.

Our challenge this week was to use

Rose Red, Not Quite Navy, River Rock

OR

Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze

I decided to use the second combination to challenge myself.  I also combined it with the sketch challenge at Utah Divas International

Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

I created the layers by sponging on the ink.  I love the look on the panel on the card.  I also used white as the matting layer to make it pop on the Eggplant.  Now it is time to head on over to Carol's blog - Carol's Cards to see what she did with the color challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Crayon Rubbed Embossing

Hello Ladies!

I don't know about you but I seem to get busier and busier no matter what I do to catch up.  I so need a day to play and relax!

Are you ready for a new technique?  Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments my fellow design team member Dawn found  new technique - at least it is new to me.

I wasn't sure how to do this technique so I looked it up on Splitcoast Stampers and found a tutorial here.  I started looking through my embossing folders and ran across the snowflake one so that is the one I went with.  I used Bashful Blue ink but the brayering makes it look darker than I would have liked.  You really have to rub the crayon on the cardstock as you can see from my inside piece it was not as good.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I painted the snowmen and the snow on the ground with my shimmer paint.  You should give this technique a try and play along with us this week.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - dots and stripes

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had a good weekend.  We are supposed to get rain the next few days.  What is your weather going to be?

At Late Night Stampers this week our challenge is to to use dots or stripes or both.  I love dots and stripes so I decided to use both as I love mixing them.

I ran across a color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary and decided to use it for my card.

I have not made many Halloween cards lately so I thought it would be fun to play with these colors.  I also used the reinker on vellum to make the background.  After I made the piece, it needed something so I decided to emboss it with the spider web folder.  It did not show up like I had wanted it to so I pulled out my black pad and swiped it across the raised parts.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

This is such a fun card.  I love the background.  It would be great if you would pull out your dots and stripes and play with us.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Play Time

Good Morning Everyone!

The weather has been gorgeous the past few days.  I understand it is going to change later today.  We are supposed to get rain starting this evening and lasting for a few days.  While I am glad it is going to rain I don't know when I will cut my grass.  Maybe today after my workshop.

My card today is one I made when I was in Boston with Donna and we spent a day playing.  I so miss that.  It is always fun to play with someone else.  We used the shaving cream technique on the vellum and then stamped the swirl on the vellum when it dried.  I then stamped french background on a piece of white and layered the vellum on top.  This is a very pretty card.  Here is my final creation.

inside of card and envelope

I have not done a second video and I think it is about time.  I am hoping to make a video on the shaving cream technique.  I hope to get it done so I can post it next weekend.  If you have any other ideas for videos you would like let me know.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Scoring again!

Hello Stampers!

I took some time yesterday to play and make some cards for the weekend.  I have to admit this card took a lot longer than I had planned.  Some of the time was spent making masks but I still was surprised with how long it took.

I began with the color challenge at Color Me Beautiful

I loved this color combo the minute I saw it I knew I wanted to play with it.  I had an idea in my head and wanted to try some more scoring so I did a little experimenting.  After I had my score lines I wanted them to pop a little more so I decided to try some sponging.  That did not work like I wanted to I pulled out a Q-tip and was able to highlight the scoring.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

So what do you think of my use of the colors?  Not bad huh!  Thanks for looking and have a  Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow this week was really busy!  I am so glad it is Friday and the weekend is here.

I have to admit that this week was so busy that I decided to get my colors to use from Dynamic Duos.  I was just too tired to think of colors.

At Sketch Frenzy Friday Jennifer has created a great sketch for us this week.

I looked at this sketch the other day and spent a few days thinking about what stamp set to use.  I bet you can tell I have had a busy week.  Well even though I took the easy route for the colors and sketch, I did play with a new ribbon treatment.  Here is my creation.

Glittery Fall

Hello Everyone!

Wow I can't believe it is Thursday already!  Where has the week gone?

I played with Donna's Butternut Sage Designs challenge.  For the next 2 weeks she has challenged you to create a project for Glittery Fall.

I pulled out my French Foliage set and again played with it using some more Fall colors.  I used the rock and roll method on the leaves.  Here is what I created.

So do you like Fall?  Head on over to Butternut Sage Designs and join Donna with her challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Garden Green

Good Morning Stampers!

Well it has been a hectic week here.  I am finishing up my observations as well as working on my graduate classes.  Knowing that I took the simple way out this week.

Our challenge this week was to Garden Green.  Our choices were

Garden Green, More Mustard, and Chocolate Chip

OR

Garden Green, Bashful Blue, and Tangerine Tango

I went with the first set of colors and combined it with the challenge at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge

I decided to try cutting the Chevron embossing folder on the zigzags for the wavy element of the sketch.  I also moved the buttons to the upper corner as they were lost in the lower one.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

So what do you think?  Did I do okay with the simple design today?  Are you ready to see what the other ladies did with the colors?  Hop on over to Carol's blog - Carol's cards to see what she did with the colors.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!
