Here's to You

Hello Ladies!

Quick post as a bad storm has hit and I am thinking we are going to loose power.

I needed a card for my workshop next week.  I think this may be one of them.

I used the sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers

I combined it with the color challenge at Just Add Ink

Here is my card

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Everything Eleanor

Happy Friday Everyone!

Well the heat is supposed to be dangerously high today.  I am so glad I don't need to go anywhere and can stay inside and play in my stamp room.  I have a friend coming over today and we will have fun creating some new cards.

My card today is for our sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Our sketch this week was created by Deb Currier.

I decided to keep my card clean and simple like Deb's sketch.  I also used 2 new In Colors.  I also added some paper piercing since we have that challenge this week and I enjoyed playing with some ideas.  Here is my creation.

inside of card and envelope

I have to say I am not that fond of these colors.  I have tried Primrose Petals before and was not thrilled with it.  After this card I am still not a fan.  I have used Summer Starfruit in small pieces before and it was okay.  I do not like it as a large part of the card.  So I love the sketch but not the colors of my card.

Now it is time to head on over to Sharon Wheet's blog to see what she created using the sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Baker's Twine main focus

Good Morning Ladies!

Well over at Butternut Sage Designs Donna really gave a challenge this time.  Here challenge was to create a card where Baker's Twine was the main focus.  This was a real challenge for all of us but some of the ladies did a fabulous job.  Head on over to Donna's blog and check out the Morning Chat Challenge link to see the other cards.

When I started thinking about this challenge I thought of using the twine to do some wrapping of the mini flower on the Boho Blossoms punch.  I had an image in my mind but it did not turn out like I had pictured. When I had the flowers done I was deciding how to add them to a card.  Check out the other way I used twine in my creation below.

Don't you just love the baker's twine grass!  I had fun making the pom poms that I used for the grass.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - quilt inspiration

Good Morning Ladies!

My card this week was totally inspired by one of the pictures in our challenge photo.  I am certain you will know which picture when you see it.  Our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is all about quilts.

This is a fun challenge this week.  I hope you will come over and play with this week.  I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the challenge!

Late Night Stampers - paper piercing

Happy Monday Everyone!

Wow where did the weekend go?  It seems like it was just Friday.

We have a fun challenge over at Late Night Stampers this week.  We are to use paper piercing.  I had this great idea to create a circular pattern radiating out from an image.  I went looking at my stamp sets and decided on a flower.  Here is my creation.

I even did some piercing on the inside of the card and the envelope!  I think I got carried away. :)

I hope you enjoyed my card and will try some paper piercing yourself.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Ebony and Ivory Swap

Good Morning Stampers!

Such a busy weekend for me.  Lots going on and I still need to work on my class.

My card today is the one I created for an Ebony and Ivory swap I did.  It is hard to see but I embossed the ivory pieces with the polka dots folder.  The Day of Gratitude image was stamped with black and then embossed with iridescent ice.  It was very sparkly.

Sorry for the poor picture.  I took the picture at the post office and it was in a clear envelope.  It was very pretty in real life.

If you do not have this set you should consider getting it.  It is a great set and this image is fun to work with.

Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge convention swap

Hello Ladies!

Well we had some storms last night.  At one point we were have marble size hail.  Poor Bijou was scared and just followed me around.  When it was all over she finally calmed down.  I took her outside and the air was very damp and humid.  It was like we had fog.

My card today began with the sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge blog

I wanted to use this sketch for another convention swap card.  I thought it would be fun to do a Christmas card.  I began by looking for something for the swirl.  I decided to use the Northern Flurry folder.  I had to flip the sketch to make it work.  Once I had the embossing done I added the pine tree from Lovely as a Tree.  After I had the embossing and stamping done I spritzed it with Shimmer Spray.  I then went searching for a sentiment and found one in Bells and Boughs.  The only think I needed to add was my ribbon.  Here is my creation!

I hope you enjoyed seeing another of my convention swaps.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

Good Morning Everyone!

We have another sketch this week.  This one was created by Angela Walters.

I played earlier in the week with the reinker background technique that I explained on Wednesday.  I had also created this paper that I used for my card today.  I decided to use butterflies for the main image.  Here is my creation.

Hope you enjoyed my card today as it is not my usual style.  Now it is time to hop on over to Sharon Wheet's blog  to see what she created using our sketch.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Thursday post

Hello ladies!

Wow I have been swamped this week.  I started teaching my graduate class and it has me hopping.  I get a few days before the next class so I will spend it in my craft room.

I saw a color challenge at Dynamic Duos that I wanted to try.

I love pink and black together so I just had to do this one.  Here is what I created.

inside of card and envelope

You can't tell from the top photo but the black top layer has the same flower embossed with clear embossing powder.  Looks really net.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Coloring Down the Lines - Pacific Point

Good Morning Everyone!

It is time for our Morning Chat groups Coloring Down the Lines color challenge.  We are using the color coach and "coloring down the lines".  This week we were to use

Pacific Point, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie

OR

Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry

I saw on CherylAnne's blog a card she did where she used reinkers and vellum.  I went looking on You Tube and found a video explaining how to do the technique.  The problem was the reinkers were alcohol reinkers and not ours.  I decided to play with our reinkers and see what I could make.

I cut 2 pieces of vellum and used the blending tool to stamp the first piece.  This one turned out heavy so I decided to stamp the other piece.  I started but I wasn't getting the look I wanted to I added some blending solution.  That worked and the second piece was very nice.

I used the first piece to make my flowers and the second piece for the panel on the left.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Now it is time to hop on over to Amanda's blog to see what she did with our color challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Good Morning Stampers!

Well the heat and humidity are back.  It was so nice over the weekend when it was cool.

Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a paper pleating challenge.  If you have not tried paper pleating you should.  It it lots of fun and there are several different ways to do it as you will see from the all design team samples.

Here is what I created for our challenge.

Late Night Stampers - use an insect

Happy Monday Everyone!

This week will be hectic for me.  I start teaching my graduate course tonight.  I have been busy making my convention swaps as I will be busy with my class.  I still have to make my projects for the next session of Stampin' Fun and Friends.  I know what I am going to do just need to get it done.

Today over at Late Night Stampers or challenge is to use an insect on your project.  When we did the Summer Banner class last weekend we used a punch bee on one of the panels.  I thought it would be fun to recreate the bee for my card.  When I had it finished I thought it would be so fun if the bee was hovering over a flower.  I pulled out my Fun Flowers die and cut out my flower.  I used the Blossom Builder punch to punch the leaves then folded in half and ran through my crimper.  I attached the flower to my card then used wire to attach the antennae to the bee.  I also used the wire to form a little stand for the bee.  The bee actually wiggles a little when you move the card.

This was so fun!  I did not have any bee stamps so I pulled out an old set - Betsy the Beekeeper - to stamp my bees and the hive.  I hope you enjoy it.  Here is my creation.

VC Rocks Blog Hop

Hello Stampers!

Well we are having another blog hop for VC Rocks.  This time the theme is Any Size Card.  I decided to use the regular size card but do a different fold.

You should have arrived here from Nancy's blog Fancy Nancy Kay.

I am glad you joined me for my creations.  Since the blog runs all weekend, I have made 2 cards since I won't be posting tomorrow.

The first idea came to me in a dream.  It may have been done by someone else but I can't remember.  If this is your idea let me know and I will give you credit.

I have a lot of retired designer series paper and I thought it would be fun to make a pocket using some of the paper.  I then made a card to go inside.  Here is my first creation.

card for inside of pocket

My second card uses a fold I saw in a book I have - Journal of Paper Engineering.  I thought it would be a fun one to do using the strawberry from Best of Everything.  I loved adding patterned paper to my card to make this design my own.  Here is my second creation.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today.  Now it is time to hop on over to Deborah's blog Thoughts of a Grasshopper.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a Super Saturday and a Sensational Sunday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday -

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy am I glad it is the weekend!  I have been so busy this week that I am going to use the weekend to relax and craft.  I have a knitting project I want to finish, some design team commitments to work on, swaps for convention to do, and post for you so you have something to look at next week.

Friday means it is Sketch Frenzy Friday!  Our sketch this week was created by Tina Munzke

This was a great clean and simple sketch so I decided to make my card clean and simple.  I used the Delicate Doilies stamp set as I had not used it in a while.  Here is my interpretation of Tina's sketch.

I love this stamp embossed and the parts of the doily colored in.  I hope you enjoyed it.  Now it is time to hop on over to Sharon Wheet's blog to see what she did with the sketch.  I am sure you will enjoy it.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - birds

Hello Stampers!

Did you spend some time stamping yesterday?  I spent some time yesterday evening working on some cards for a design team post and a blog hop for the weekend.  It feels good to have cards made for upcoming posts.  Since I start teaching next week I need to work ahead as much as I can.

We have a fun challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week.  We are to use peacocks or birds.

I do not have the peacock stamp set so I had to go with a bird.   I am not a bird fan but it seems like here lately I have to use them on my cards.  Good thing I ordered the Betsy's Blossom set.  Here is what I created for our challenge.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - ABC - Anything But a Card

Good Monday Morning!

What a busy weekend I had.  I had a card workshop in Saturday and a Summer Banner workshop on Sunday!  We had a great time.  Now it is time for me to prepare for my Scrapbook class on Wednesday.

Over at Late Night Stampers this week we have an ABC challenge.  This means we can make Anything But a Card!  I decided to make a ATC - Artistic Trading Card.  These small pieces of art are great because you can easily add them to a regular size card.

I decided to use some of the Twitterpated designer series paper and took my color combo from there.  Here is what I created.

Why don't you join us this week?  What can you make that is not a card?  Make sure you share what you make with us.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!
