Happy New Year's Eve!

Wow this year flew by!  So much happened this year.  I am so blessed with such a wonderful family and many fabulous friends!  I hope you have lots of good things in your life in this new year!

I am headed to breakfast with a great friend and her family.  Our kids grew up together so the 2 families are meeting for breakfast.  It will be a fun day with 9 of us catching up - there are a few who can't make it.  We are going to The Original Pancake House so it should be fun.

My card today began with the color challenge at Cards & Things

 


I combined it with the sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenges

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Fabulous Florets

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Stampers!  I hope you have had a good week and are ready to bring in the New Year.  It will be quiet at my house as I am planning on watching the ball drop from home.

Since it is Friday that means it is sketch Frenzy Friday.  Our sketch today was designed by Sharon Wheet.

This was a fun sketch.  I pulled out one of my favorite color combos - Rose Red, So Saffron, and Garden Green - and used a set I haven't used in a while.  I went for a clean and simple look with this one.  Here is my creation.

Another sneak peek!

Good Morning Stampers!

Last night got away from me and I totally forgot to post.  This will be quick since it is late and I need to get going.

My card today uses a new set and punch from the upcoming Occasions Mini.  I began by stamping the doily and then stamped the medallion from the set in the mini and used the matching punch to punch it out.  I restamped the medallion and punched out the center.  This card screamed pretty ribbon so I added the organza ribbon and it was done.  Here is my creation.

Do you think it needs a pearl or bling in the center?  Looking at it here it seems to be missing something but maybe that is me as I love my bling.  Let me know.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

I got some sneak peek goodies!

Good Morning Ladies!

I got my preorder of Occasion mini goodies in before Christmas.  I took a little time to play with them before I left for Jess'.

The upcoming mini has quite few framelits, edgelits, and embossing edges.  I used one of my edgelits on this card.  I love the scalloped edge and it was easy to do.  I just lined up my edge and ran it through my Big Shot.  I would suggest you use some painter's tape to hold it in place so it doesn't slip.  

When I saw the edge I thought of the vine in Vintage Vogue and used that set to create my card.  Here is my creation.

I added some rhinestones to the center of the flowers as it needed some bling.  Love this new edgelit!  Can't wait to try the other one that comes in the set.  I will have another sneak peek tomorrow.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

A Christmas Present

Merry Christmas Stampers!

I am honored you took some time away from the holiday activities to visit my blog.  I know we all have a lot going on and spending time with family is so precious.  This will be short and sweet so you can get back to your family.

My project today was a Christmas present I made for my coworker.  I saw this originally on Wendy's blog and knew it would be a great gift for her.  I used the colors in her Family Room so it would match her decor.  Here is my gift.

 

Sorry for the shadows but it is hard to photograph glass.  The black square are where she can put pictures of her family - I modified Wendy's original design as I want to have have more pictures on mine.  Hope you enjoyed today's project.  Thanks for looking and have Peaceful Merry Christmas!

Saturday Dec 24

Good Morning Stampers!

Well it is Christmas Eve and all is well.  I am enjoying my time with my family.  We did some baking yesterday and will finish up today.  Have you done your baking yet?

My card today began with wanting to use some of the Artichoke jean ribbon I just got.  I also had an outline from a top note die I had cut and decided to use that as the background layer.  The rest was just pulling it all together.  I did do some watercolor coloring on the flowers.  Haven't done it in a while so I think I need to do it more often as you can see I am out of practice.  Here is my creation.

Well only 2 more days before Christmas.  I hope you have your shopping done because if not you will be hopping and won't have time to play with us this week.

Since it is Friday it is time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  This week I created the sketch. 

I had fun creating this sketch and even more fun making the card.  Since I created this several months ago I didn't really pay attention to when it would be posted.  When I went to make my card and I looked at the sketch the wavy line reminded me of snow so I went with that idea.  Here is my creation!

Tempting Espresso Kindness

Good Morning Stampers!

Well I made it to Jess' in spite of the rain.  I also had to deal with traffic since I had to leave later than I had wanted.  I picked up Michaela early, early, early this morning so now all my girls are together.

I played with the Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenges before I left home.

Sweet Spring session of Stampin Fun and Friends

Late Night Stampers - Blue, white and silver holiday

Happy Monday Stampers!

Well this is the final week.  Everything needs to be done by Saturday!  I have to wrap my gifts and that is basically it.  Michaela comes in Wednesday and Thursday we are going to stuff our ham. 

My card today was 1 I created to celebrate New Year's.  I didn't really need another Christmas card so I decided to make a New Year's card.  I used 2 sets to make my fireworks as I didn't have any that I could use.  Here is my creation.

Morning Chat Challenge - Punch Art

Good Morning Ladies!

Can you believe we have 1 week until Christmas?  Where has the time gone?  Have you thought about your New Year's Resolution yet? 

My card today is for the challenge over at Sunny Stampin Morning Chat.  Our challenge this time was to create some kind of punch art.

I originally was going to try and do some penguins but I ran across another idea at The Paper Trail that I wanted to try instead.  I love angels so this was right up my alley.  I did my angels differently than the ones on the other blog.  Here is what I came up with.

Playing with some challenges and and announcement!

I took advantage of the chance to play with a few challenges yesterday.  I hadn't played with any in quite a while and it was good to find a few to play with.

I ran across a color challenge at Cards and Things that I wanted to give a try.

Another ornament

Hi Ladies!

Today I have another ornament that Jess and I made this past weekend.  We actually saw this idea on Pinterest and decided to see if we could do it.  It several tries - plastic doesn't work as it melts when you emboss it. 

We tried using a craft ink and embossing but it did not look right.  We tried regular ink but that smears.  What worked the best was gold (or silver) ink and matching embossing powder.  Here is the one we did.

Sorry about the bad picture.  I forgot to take the picture before Jess went home so I asked her to take one for me.  She used her wall rather than her counter which is white.  In case you can't tell that is Zoie's handprint.  She is going to write her name and the date on the ball also and add some snow and punched red snowflakes on the inside.  It really looks great in real life.

Another Quick Card

Hello Stampers!

Are you as busy as I am?  I still have things to get done.  My class is over so now I just need to grade final projects and enter grades.  Hopefully I will get that done in the next 2 days.

With that in mind, I saw a clean and simple sketch at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge    

I thought this sketch would be perfect for a quick card.  I did make a few changes but only minor ones.  Here is what I created.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Old Fashioned Christmas

Hello Stampers!

Since it is Tuesday that means it is Hand Stamped Sentiments.  We have a fun challenge this week.  Our challenge is an Old Fashioned Christmas.  Since there are no parameters it will be fun to see what each person does with the theme.

When I think of an Old Fashioned Christmas I think of deep red, muddy green, dark brown, lace, and holly.  That was the beginning of my card.  Now I needed an image.  I found the perfect one in Bells and Boughs.  Now all I need to do us make the card.

I pulled out my top note die as I had not used it in a while.  All I had to do after that was stamp and color.  Here is my creation.
