A quick and easy Christmas card

Hello Ladies!

Well I am on my way home today.  I got in late last night and spent the night with Jess so I am headed home today.

My card today is a quick and easy card and could easily be mass produced for Christmas.  I was inspired by a fellow stamper - Julie Davison.  I saw a card on her blog where she use the pennants punch and made a 3D tree and I decided to give it a try.  Here is what I created.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Pull out your supplies and see what you can create and share it with me.  I love looking at stamped art!  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - ornaments

Happy Tuesday!

As you read this I am either getting ready to fly home or on the plane.  I can't believe I have been in San Jose for 2 weeks.  Wow the time flew by.

Our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is an anything but cards challenge and we were to make ornaments.

I saw on another blog where the lady had taken a die cut for an ornament and made a 3D ornament with it.  I decided to try it with our ornament punch and again with our Northern Frost strip.  Here is what I made.

The ornament one does look better.  I had a hard time getting photo while holding it.  So are you going to join us this week?  It would be lots of fun for you to play along.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - gift card holder

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well we are on the countdown to Christmas.  I can't believe it will almost be December.  Where has the year gone?

With Christmas fast approaching we will be in need of gift ideas.  Our challenge this week at Late Night Stampers is to make a gift card holder.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do then this idea just popped into my head.  I took a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card and cut an extra piece at the bottom.  I folded the flap up and created a pocket for the gift card.  This was easy to do and makes a cute and quick holder.  Here is my version.

If you are in need of some more ideas make sure you check out the other creations.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

The real swap card

Hello Stampers!

Yesterday I shared my first card for the swap I am in.  Today I am going to share the final card I used for the swap.

While the card yesterday was nice it just didn't seem to be good enough to me.  So I played around with colors and ended up using these colors instead.  I like the look of this one better.

As you can see the colors you use on a card can make the difference.  Hope you have some fun plans for today.  Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

My Swap Card

Good Morning Stampers!

I saw a great technique by Donna at Butternut Sage Designs.  When I saw it I knew it would cool to do for a snow scene.  Since our theme this month was Winter Wonderland - what does it mean to you I knew I would use her idea.

It was fun to do.  First I embossed some snowflakes.  Then I added the swirls.  After I had embossed the swirls I added color all over.  I then painted the cardstock with Tombow glue and stuck down the mica flakes.  After the glue had dried I used a paintbrush and applied some cornstarch since the glue is sticky if you don't adhere something to it.  Lastly I punched some snowflakes and used dimensionals.  Here is the final card.

This was my sample but the one I did for the swap I used a different blue.  Check back tomorrow to see what that one looks like.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Spice Cake

Happy Black Friday Everyone!

So how many of you are going to go out with the crazies today?  Not me - unless my daughter decides she wants a Christmas tree that is on sale at JoAnn's.  :)

My card today was created for the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch challenge for this week.  Our sketch was created by Jennifer Weide.

Isn't this a fun sketch?  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

Revisiting a tag

Good Morning Ladies!

I made a tag a couple of weeks ago I thought would make a perfect card.  So before I left I pulled the tag out and put together this card.  I think it turned out perfect for a Thanksgiving card!  Here is what I did with the tag.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Winter Wonderland

Hello Ladies!

Well only 2 more days and turkey day will be here!  I am looking forward to watching the parade and then the football games.  How about you, what will you do that day?

Our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is Winter Wonderland.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do for this challenge.  So I took my inspiration from the forest picture at the bottom.  I pulled out my Lovely as a Tree set and used the pine tree to create my forest.  After that I used the snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes and stamped them in white and added snow to the trees using my white pen.  For the final touch I a snowflake from the Northern Frost die.  Here is my creation.

We would love to have you join us this week.  Hop over to the blog and see what the other talented ladies created then pull out your supplies and join us.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - non traditional Christmas colors

Happy Monday Stampers!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and that you are ready for Thanksgiving!  I will be doing the food shopping with my daughter today.  Wish us luck!

We have a new challenge this week at Late Night Stampers.  We are to make non-traditional Christmas cards using any colors other that your normal red and green!  When I saw this I knew what color I wanted to use.  I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas card using Elegant Eggplant.  I think this is such a pretty color and looks so good on a Christmas card.  Here is what I created.

Hope you enjoyed my card today and it has inspired you to try making a Christmas card using non-traditional colors.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Sunny Stampin Travel challenge

Good Morning Ladies!

We have another challenge at the Sunny Stampin group.  The theme of our challenge this time is travel.  I had hoped to make a journal with a place to keep mementos before I left but it did not happen.  In talking to the group on Thursday morning a suggestion was made which sparked an idea.

I do not have a card, scrapbook page, or project.  Instead I have some pictures to show of my actual trip.  I am in San Jose visiting my daughter so while we were out running errands today I snapped these photos.

some palm trees

another proof I am out west

sign indicating which way to go to San Francisco

and finally the last time I was out here I saw these gas stations and cracked up as they have my name in the title

Sorry I wasn't able to crop these as I took them with my camera phone and I do not know how to crop the pictures.

I hope you enjoyed my travel challenge entry.  Make sure you check out the other entries on Butternut Sage Designs blog tomorrow.  I am sure you will see quite a variety of entries.

Thanks for looking and have a Sensational Sunday!

Another Mobile

Good Morning Ladies!

I had a great time yesterday stamping with Michelle.  One of her downlines came over for a little bit and we used her new petal cone die.  I will be sharing what we made at a later date.

Today I want to share with you the mobile that my daughter made for the baby shower she gave last week.  We used the Fun Flowers die and she matched our cardstock to the colors the mom-to-be chose for the nursery.  This mobile turned out so cute!  The mom-to-be loved it and was amazed how the colors matched her fabric.  Here is what the mobile looked like.

close up from below the mobile

Isn't this so cute!  I am not sure how many more mobiles she is going to make.  She has already made 2 butterfly ones and another flower circle one.  I know she has plans for some more for gifts so we will see.

Hope you enjoyed the mobile.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Spice Cake

Hello Ladies!

I hope you had a good week.  I am super excited as today I am going to a fellow demonstrators house to do some stamping.  Michelle is a member of Late Night Stampers like I am and last July when I was here she mentioned if I came back we would get together and stamp.  I contacted here before I came out to San Jose this time and we are going to meet today.  I will be sure to share my day with you.

Since it is Friday it is time for our sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday .  Our sketch this week was created by Deb Currier.  It is a clean and simple sketch.

I thought this would be a fun card to use the big buttons from the Spice Cake line.  I paired it with some ds paper and here is what I created.

Isn't this a great card?  Are you ready to see some more awesome work?  Head on over to Sharon Wheet's blog to see what she did with the sketch.  I am sure she created something super cool to look at.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

More Baby Shower Pics

Sorry this is late as I was so exhausted last night from the time change I didn't remember to create a post.

I promised you yesterday to share more of the baby shower pics and how we used Stampin' Up supplies.  Here are some more ideas.

The first thing my daughter wanted to do was to make a picture for the mom-to-be to show everyone who had attended.  She used the SU markers to draw flower stems.  Then the ladies used their thumbs and our pads to create the petals of the flowers.  Then using a SU marker they signed their names at the top.  My daughter will frame this for the baby's room.

As a favor we used the Big Shot and the Flower Folds die to make flower votives as a favor for the shower.  She displayed these on a table with a mum for everyone to take as they left.

These last pictures did not use SU supplies but I had to share as my daughter is really into cupcakes and I can't believe how talented she is.  For the dessert at the shower she saw where they used tin pails and created a bouquet of flowers where the flowers were cupcakes.  Here are some pics of the ones she made.

Everyone had a great time and they loved the garden theme.  I still have one more Big Shot project that I will share later on.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!

Another Baby Shower Card

Hello Ladies!

My daughter asked me to make her a card to give to the mom-to-be at the shower last Saturday.  I shared my card with your earlier so I am sharing the card I made for her to give.  Since the mom-to-be is a gardener Jess used a garden theme.  She wanted her card to reflect that also.  We used the Fun Flowers die to make this in the colors that were chosen for the nursery.  Here is the card I made for her.

As you read this today I am headed to San Jose to spend some time with my daughter.  I have prepared lots of cards to share with you while I am there so make sure you check in to see what I created.  Tomorrow I will share some other pictures from the shower and how I used the Big Shot to make some of the cute items.  Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Bargello

Hello Ladies!

We have a challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiment this week that is a new one for me.  We are to use the Bargello technique.  This is a needlework technique that has been applied to papercrafting.

I first had to choose my designer series paper.  Then the rest is just spending time following the steps.  Here is my creation.

This was as fun technique and if you have not tried it you might want to pull out your paper and see what you can do with it.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Late Night Stampers - Let it Shine

Happy Monday Stampers!

So are you ready for a great challenge?  This one is one of my favorite subject for a card.  This week we have to create a project that has something to do with snow!  I love snow and snowmen and snowflakes!  Some areas have had their first snowfall but not us.  Here is what I created with the snow theme.

I love the little penguins on my card.  They are just so cute!  Wish we had more penguin images.  Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Try Stampin on Tuesday Pennant Parade

Hello Ladies!

Wow, I can't believe it is almost time for my trip.  I still have so much to do.  Not sure how I will get it all done.  I will be up late the next couple of nights to get done what I need to.

My card today is for the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch challenge.

When I saw this sketch I thought it would be a great card to do using Christmas paper.  The only Christmas paper I currently have is retired paper so I pulled out some of that.  After mixing and matching my papers here is what I created.

Baby Shower Card

Quick post as it is very, very late and I have to be up early and tomorrow is a very busy day.

My daughter is hosting a baby shower today for one of her best friends.  We worked all day yesterday making things for it.  I will take pictures to share of some of the things we made.

The mom-to-be has chosen a piece of fabric that has a bright pink and an orange in it so I chose Melon Mambo and Peach Parfait for my card.  Here is my creation.

Since it is Friday, you know what that means.  It is Sketch Frenzy Friday.  This week we have a great sketch created by Angela Walters.

I loved the clean look of this sketch.  I thought it would make a great Christmas card.  So I took that idea and created.  Here is my finished card.
