Playing with the Brayer

Second post make sure you scroll down to see my meander book!

This will be a quick post. I am headed to my sisters for our weekly crosstitch and dinner.

I wanted to make sure I did a post today with a card that used the brayer. I was searching for techniques at you tube and I ran across one where the lady used paint and lace. Well leave it to me to see if I can do it with ink. I took some time and tried several pieces of lace as well as different cardstocks and inks. I am going to post the picture and then I will explain a little. Here are my samples.

There are 3 samples. The top sample is done on glossy paper with the black lace and Pacific Point ink. The bottom right sample is done on glossy paper with the white lace and Regal Rose craft ink. The bottom left sample is done on regular white cardstock with the black lace and Sahara Sand ink. As you can see the darker the ink the better it turns out. The pink one is a little blurry as in pressing the cardstock on the lace it slipped - I would not recommend using craft ink as the blue had no issues even thought it was on the glossy paper also. The bottom left has a very faint pattern. I am thinking I might be able to use the Vogue wheel and do something with it. I will play and see.

Now on to my card. I choose the colors from the color challenge at Picture Perfect Creations.

I also used the sketch challenge at Techno Stamper.

I flipped the sketch to make it work for me. I used the brayered lace paper to make my background. Here is my creation. Let me know what you think.

I hope you enjoyed today's brayer card. I am working on another one for tomorrow. Hope you will come back and visit. Thanks for looking and have a great afternoon!
