This card was done by on of my customers Donna Gibson. She showed us this card at the Stamp-A-Stack, we asked her if we could post this on our Blog and she kindly said yes, so I hope all of you enjoy this card as much as we did. She designed this card for her son Michael and her new daughter-in-law Kimmie for their Wedding Day, this card is truly sweet. Donna used watercolor paper, mulberry paper, three different kinds of ribbon, crystals, and there is an Iridescent shimmer on the main card. I don't now if this photo will even do it justice, if you click on this photo you will be able to take a closer look. Donna, Thank you for letting us post this on our Blog I am sure alot of people will enjoy this BEAUTY!!!

Candice and I got a level 3 hostess set from Stampin' UP as a preview of the new catalog. We thought it would be a good idea if we each designed a card using the set. I used this sketch
from this website. They do a weekly sketch that can be fun to try. There are several websites who have a weekly sketch which you are always welcome to try. They are a great starting point if you get in a slump. Hope you like my card!Sunday, November 25, 2007

Color Challenge Monday
Well that felt like a long week, I am glad last week is over with... We had our Fall Festival at my daughters school on Friday, which was a success, but all the planning phone calls and scheduling just wears me out, this is my 3rd year running this event and the night of event makes up for it all because the children enjoy it so much:-) The support that I get is always such a help, if it was not for them I don't know how I would pull this event off. I am back and I hope everyone had a great week.
Here is my card and colors that I chose, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, and Designer Series paper Wintergreen.Stamps: Season of Joy Paper: Certainly Celery, Soft Sky, Always Artichoke, and Wintergreen Designer Series Paper Ink: Always Artichoke Accessories: 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, and Aqua Brads from Pink Hodgehog Paper Crafts.
For my design I began with Bravo Burgundy. There were 2 color combos that I was torn between I decided on this one as it just seemed more like an old fashioned Christmas to me.
Stamps: Holiday Tag Team, Warmest Regards Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose, Garden Green, Very Vanilla Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose, Garden Green Accessories: Circle punches in 4 different sizes, sponges, ribbon, corner rounder to scallop edges
Hope you had a great weekend. Candice and I are gearing up for our Christmas Stamp a Stack. We have soooooooo much cardstock to cut. Thanks for looking!

Sketch Saturday by Robbie
I really liked this design when I was it. The problem is when I started playing with it my card was modified from the sketch. I had the card completed the way the sketch was layed out but when it was all finished I wasn't happy. It was missing something. So I added a layer on top. It still needed something so I added the ribbon at the bottom. Again it seemed to be missing something so I decided to try the ribbon in the top corner. I then looked at it and said hmmm maybe some brads. Well I added the brads in the points of the center piece and finally said okay. So even though I started with a basic sketch, my final product looks a little different. Does that ever happen to you?

Thursday's Design by Robbie
I bet you are wondering why I am doing Candice's design. At this very moment Candice is busy preparing for the Fall Festival at her school. When we talked yesterday she said she would not be able to post a card as she did not have the time to create anything this week. I thought I would take a card I made in one of my workshops and revisit it adding a new twist. I took a card that I had created to look like a present. The top flap opened up and on the inside was the sentiment. I decided to use that card and stick the sides together and insert a card that you pulled out and had a sentiment on it. Here is the card and the insert.
Stamps: Canvas background, Holiday Tag Team, Great Greetings (retired) Paper: Glorious Green, Whisper White, Real Red Ink: Glorious Green, Real Red Accessories: Square brad, Round tab punch, Glorious Green - Summer Sun - Close to Cocoa markers, Christmas ribbon, sponges, hole punch, Zots
Hope you enjoyed my remake. Thanks for looking!
